hi guys,
i just wanted to see how many people would want one. there would be tow septate mounts, one made for the arctic and one custom made for your diy. also they would be 3d printed, and fit dr. lava's lenses.
thanks,
EDIT: just got a pair of optics to fiddle with (thanks Dave!), refining the design now.

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

I was already thinking of doing something along those lines....So I guess You can count Me as interested.

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

As in, DIY for any lab application? I'm interested.

Lets talk pricing. 3d printing is expensive!

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

If it's not to much, I might be in for my Artic.

3d printing IS expensive, if you don't know someone with a printer. also these will be made in a way to save material thus making part cheaper. i don't know an exact price yet but it will probably around $10-15, it could be as low as $5 though. i have a rough start to the arctic mount, watcha think?

EDIT: for the diy its custom designed to fit your application. :D

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

Hmm... so if you needed to, you could print a simple slab with slots for the lenses to be glued into at 20mm apart, while being square?

If such a thing can be done for <$15, I'm in for sure.

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

i could defiantly do that. the price is based on the size of the model, what would the dimensions of the slab be?

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

Excellent. It would need to be about 1 inch wide, and at least 20mm apart (to get the required 20mm spacing between the optics)

*Gahh!!

I'm mixing up the imperial system with the metric system! The imperial system just won't let me go!

25.4mm X >20mm..

There!

lol its ok, inventor can enter both units :D, hows a 1in X 1in sound? also how tall?

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

Could one be made for Flaminpyro's TANK007?

Re: feeler: arctic/diy corrective optic mount

hows this?

Something as simple as that should be all people need for the DIY side. I don't know the exact dimensions of those optics, but once they come in, it shouldn't be hard to develop a plate with perhaps more of a couple "footprints" for the lenses to be epoxied into, at the specified 20mm distance apart.

It looks excellent so far. I would wait for the lenses to arrive, and then finalize the design to be sold. Though grabbing the amount of interest beforehand is a good idea too! :gj:

I'd be interested in an Arctic setup.

absolutely however i would need some dimensions on it to make it fit nice and snug.

i have modified the design to have the 20 mm distance.
however the little info on these lenses is the hard part, thats why i'm leaving the drawing open for modification.
