I would think that the easiest way to make a mount that would be used by a DYI build would be to either integrate a Modules that can hold the Diode and the Colm lens, as well as the corrective optics. Perhaps you could make it integrate in with already popularized modules(read aixiz) so they can almost be plug in play with the threads on the modules for the colm lens.

You would have a female threaded tube that would screw onto the front of the colm lens(instead of a thumb cap), and on the other side of the tube would contain the corrective optics for the laser light to pass through after the proper distance. Clipping of course might be a issue here since the laser light has to travel through the 2 cm distance, and a proper heat sink or material should be used to accommodate the heat generated by any scatter.

I would be in for one that would fit on the end of a full threaded axis, so long as its small and wouldn't look bad on my SH-032 Aurora host.
