$20 + $3 shipping for 1 driver + 1 Glass Red Coated Lens FREE

At any rate, these are tiny tiny tiny AMC7135 drivers that will power a Mits 300 at 1A from a single lithium ion cell, with almost no heating of the ICs. They're great. They're tiny. They'll fit entirely within an Aixiz module (easily). You can attach a (+) driver spring and get the (-) from the case, or you can use two leads for the (+/-).

The one comment I'll make, is that I'm ripping off buyers at this price. $20 is way too much for these drivers, even with the free glass lens. These drivers should be far less expensive. I'm just not setup for making drivers in any kind of volume, and I'm in a downtown area with a post office that always has a lineup. Really, this price tag of $20 is too high. You're paying for my inefficiency. I don't have the time / desire to undertake reflow right now, and I don't have the ability to make shipping less painful.

If anyone has a solution to the above, I'm all ears. It just KILLS me to see people paying $25 + shipping for a flexdrive, to drive a diode with a 3 volt Vf. I don't care about making money off these, but I don't really have the time or setup to produce and ship them in any kind of volume efficiently.

Anyway, here it is:

Nice!

I wouldn't call that price a rip off :) Seems quite fair to me.

Goodluck on your sales :) I think I might pick one up later on :)

Re: FD: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

Your title says FD not sure if that's intentional or a spelling mistake :p

20$ is a great price for this. I think the only way to get the price down is to mass-produce them.

Did you solder them by hand or do reflow?

Re: FD: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

I think he solders by hand since he states that he doesn't want to take up reflow.

Edit: How did you get one of these in a C3 host? I'm guessing you used a spring?

Oops, Missed reading that the first time.

Re: FS: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

nothing wrong with soldering by hand.
its just pita and you have to watch your traces more.

Re: FS: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

Those drivers look really nice!

Did you get those boards from the panel on the 10th? I haven't gotten mine yet :(

I think you should just go with reflow... It's not that bad. All you need is a syringe of paste and a spare toaster oven. If you've got lots of 0603 and tiny chips you might need a solder paste stencil to avoid bridges make it go quicker but for that board you will probably be fine with just a syringe and a steady hand.

Re: FS: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

I'm pretty steady with hand soldering. I don't mind that part of it.

It's really just a time issue for me - and truth be told, it's the shipping more than anything. It's not THAT slow to hand solder like 50 of these at once. If done in an assembly line manner, I think 50 in an hour is reasonable. I arctic silver the ICs in place with the Arctic Silver two-part epoxy that dries solid. Then the ICs don't move when soldering. Makes it pretty easy.

The killer is shipping in a downtown. It eats up two hours to ship even a handful of items. I'm really just not setup well for mass-manufacturing drivers. Live in an apartment, decent amount of space, but no good permanent workshop setup (save for a 30 SQ Foot utility room).

I have 96 coming :D

My Mouser bill wasn't pretty....

Oh ok, I know what you mean there. I'm in no good position to be selling either.

I noticed that the tabs on the IC's didn't seem to be soldered and I wasn't sure how that worked, makes more sense now.

@Moh

I've got like 12 maybe 15 coming idk. I'm not that excited to get them because I made a major design change on the board that made up most of my order... Now I guess I'm just gonna throw those old versions out.

I can't wait to see how all those linear boards turn out lol :D

Re: FS: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

I can't wait for people to see the pretty artwork on it, personally

Re: FS: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

Hey - will your drivers from Ben do the same as these? (one-cell, drive a Mits 300 at 1A, fit in an Aixiz) ?

If they will, I'll forgo my notion of selling these guys, and I'll just keep what I have now (and en route) for personal builds.

Honestly, my primary motivation for making these was that I'm thoroughly sick of seeing people shell out $30 after shipping for Flexdrives. It's so immensely unnecessary, with these diodes especially. But at $23 shipped for one of my drivers, even with a free red glass lens, I'm not *really* taking a big enough bite out of that $30 price tag. If you can do it better with Ben's design, mission accomplished!

Re: FS: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

Somebody rep rhd to get him to 100 :D

I really love everything you do for the forum :)

Re: FS: (they're here!) - Mosquito 635nm 1A - Single Cell Drivers

nah, the ones i have coming are simple linear drivers.
...i must spread rep....
