Re: F/S Ehgemus build 1.5W LPM tested $250

Yep my post was first off to make sure everyone knew that that power reading was with a G-1 and to ask him if he was selling it with it. His reply down a little further seemed like he did not even know. But apparently I never checked back in on this thread after my first post as I would have asked him if it had a gold lip on the bottom. If I remember correctly he just send me the host body without a battery or lens so I never saw in person the lens he had for this unit.

Oh, I know. There is no way for you to know what he did after you put it together for him.

One of my local LPF friends has a few of your builds, and they are great. He's got nothing but good things to say about you. The pictures he sent me of a mini build you did for him recently almost made me drool:beer:

I don't even think Joe scammed me on purpose, but more out ignorance, although he got very defensive about the LPM results.

Either way, the result is the same unfortunately:(

Could have been one of Stevie's G2s? I have a couple and they don't have the the gold lip at the bottom, can you tell if its a single element?

With Jay's G1 I got one of my 445's from 1200mW to 1536mW

Actually I do have two of stevie's g2 lenses in other lasers. I tested with one of those as well just to be sure.

Results were almost identical as with the g1.

I'm also gonna order 2-3 more g1 lenses from Jayrob on friday, so I'll test again with one of those.

Testing with what I know is an aixiz lens, power drops back down to around ~1250mW or so, and it looks identical to what is in ehgemus.

Hmm, just realized I need to order 3 for sure, one for 12x build, one for the ehgemus, and one just to have on hand. There goes my laser spending for next month:(

Ok, just wanted to ask. The difference between the two is almost identical. it seems thats Jays G1s do fit better and work better with my builds. I had to machine down the ends of stevies to acquire a decent fit (so that the lens would sit close to the diode)

I would like to put G1s in all my 445,405 builds :D but I usually just put them my special builds.

i think i bought the same one as you.. he probably has 2 and it is exactly the same offer.. 2 AW 18650 and 2 Green 18650 dont know what brand.. and a charger.. the lens for mine is definately aixis from the beam pattern.. i noticed that G1 lens beam is 1 bigger hotspot and when slightly out of focus, the spot becomes slightly distorted in a overlike shape.,. where else aixis beam has a smaller hotspot and a very even spill thats why the "dot" looks nicer and preferred by most and probably also thats why the lpm reading is not as high due to the spill...

EQ - Is this the same host i looked at? If yes it definitely has some wear on it although its hard to know for sure if it was just handled on a regular basis or powered up often. What was the claimed use ? As for the lens I cant be 100% sure without removing the lens from its housing but it did appear to have a red/pink coating and i believe it was a single lens ( positioned near the diode). Next time we can remove the lens and compare it side by side with the real McCoy..

X7 - How was naughty corner? Good to see you back. The pic you posted with your recent transactions was nutz. Next time you post it provide a right to left description..

Advertised handled time was "The laser has about 5 minutes of use on it." It was that host actually.

Regarding the lens... unless I have a couple of magic lenses and putting one into the ehgemus bumped the output magically by around 200mW... the one in there is not a g1 or g2:p

5 minutes Total usage? Or 5 min at time or duty cycle? Looks like someone misstated some very important details during the sale of this host.

Five minutes total usage. I have a hard time believing that after seeing the condition of your ehgemus hosts...

Looks like different guy than... Stevie's zip was 95111.

There is quite a bit of info on that scammer in this thread: http://laserpointerforums.com/f63/where-world-steviedezie-help-us-find-him-65250.html
