BluRay any chance of taking a look at my dead module? I have a feeling that the driver is responsible. It heated up way to quickly when I first got the module and just now when i was looking at its complete deadness again slightly unscrewing the back made it flutter into a dim glow for a second or two.

mine came in yesterday but i have been working to much to do anything with it. i did put a 9volt on it to check it. fired up right away left it on for 15 seconds or so. on a white wall 8 feet away the dot was about 4" guess i need to play with the lens to get a tighter beam.

thanks tommy by the way did you have to show ID to ship it . the package has a big ID RECORDED sticker on it.

Warz_Wally, So is the diode dead? or just a dim glow?? Just resend it back, i would be glad to check it for you.


Las_vegas , yes, when i send anything overseas i have to show ID and they have to record it on the Customs papers before sending it. ;)

Hey whats up?

Just wondering on an estimated time for shipping? Anyone in the us who has ordered already, how long did it take to get your laser?

Im sure I must only have a day or 2 left to wait. Im just getting pretty excited. I rush home from work to see if its arrived every day :)

Its getting close to my birthday so this is a present to myself.

Anyway I will post back and leave some feedback when mine has arrived for others interested in purchasing from you.

it tooks 7 days till my module arrived to UK....

Its been 8 days here from the day shipped. I hope i get it tomarrow.

Im not complaining though, it had a long way to travel to get to me in the US.

I cant wait, have everything sitting here ready to go. This will be my first blu ray

you could drill a hole with a 15/32" drill bit in a block of aluminium and press fit the module in.

or you could put it in an ex laser like I did.

on the left, the green laser host i use for the bluray, and on the right, the bluray !

Sorry guys, I've posted the up an update to the reason why i havent been on for the past 3 days, due to computer problems.

To others who have got their modules, GREAT and thanks for the kind words.

DiaChi is that laser from the module i sent you?? its very nicely built.

StrongBOW you can put it in anything that will fit, but then theres alot to consider as to what driver you want to have and what battery your host will use etc etc and you need a Heatsink for it to hold the module in place and to cool the module.

Milantheone, i honestly cant tell you cause i dont know how you connected everything up, Did you check if the wires are the right side. How many volts did you put into the driver. It should be no more then 5.5V. But there could be alot of things, Just let me know how its going and if its okay. Maybe you can undo the soldering on the diode and hook up an LED to the driver and see if it works. But i think you might of put too much power into the driver.
