External Lens Springs | SMOOTH focusing | WORKS with G Lenses!

Hey LPF,

I've seen our need for external lens springs, especially ones that work with G-lenses. Current external lens springs only work with the Aixiz glass lenses because they hit solid height before a G lens can get close enough to the diode to achieve a parallel beam (aka infinity focus). Which is a shame... As I much prefer external lens springs over internal ones. So I went ahead and designed a spring specially for our uses.

These springs have been tested with the Aixiz glass lenses, G-1 lenses and G-2 lenses, and they work very well with all three.

Unlike existing external lens springs, my external springs will enable your laser to focus to infinity and beyond!

^445nm Laser with G-1 Lens over-focused to my External Spring's limit.

Features:
-- Polished ends for smooth focusing!
-- Permanent solution. No more cruddy teflon taping!
-- Works with all lenses, including the G's, and with space to over-focus!

So I assume that these would also work rather well for red lenses too than? I might be tempted to pick up ten or so of these.

Oh right! I totally forgot about shipping hah. I'll add those to the thread now. I wonder if I can post these using Lettermail... if so.. then

It's $2 international shipping for 1-4 items
And $7 international shipping for >5 items

If not, then unfortunately it's $7 for all quantities. But I'll try posting it with lettermail.

If it's the red glass lens, it will work. But if it's the acrylic one, I've never tried that yet, but it should.

Four dollars a spring... Please tell me this is a joke?

$0.14 a spring. I don't know iif they work, but I bet we could find similar ones that do for a similar price.

FOUR DOLLARS A SPRING?! And only if you drop $20 for five (otherwise $5 a spring)? You have got to be kidding.

You haven't even detailed what makes these springs special. Just stainless steel? You can get those for far cheaper from a place like Amazon.com, and clip them down to size.

Or why even bother? You could just as easily take an Aixiz spring and stretch it so it fits over the outside of the lens barrel, and voila! Instant external spring. Or hell, if the Aixiz spring is too long, just snip the bottom off.

It seems like most people here don't realize you can go to a hardware store and get any spring you want for a quarter. Absolutely no need to pay $5!

I can't believe anyone would even consider wasting $40 on ten little springs!
You know if anybody thinks these springs are a good deal I've got this new kind of bread you should try. It's pre sliced. I'll sell it to you for $9 a piece :p :D

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking of using that too, I'll just go with that.

That's great to hear, and if that makes you happy then keep doing what you're doing ;)

It's worth to note that external lens springs are found in stores like survival lasers and cajunlasers for about $5.79-$5.99 ech, and they don't work with the G-lenses. Another thing to note is that I didn't just find these springs online, these have been made to my specifications, small quantity custom work costs quite a bit more.

So, price-wise, while other stores price their external springs at around $5.89, mine are as low as $3.99 each, and unlike those external springs, mine work with all lenses, out of the box. No need to clip anything or stretch anything, some people don't like to do that as it can mess things up and is quite unprofessional.

These springs aren't magical but they have improvements over current design, such as polished ends for smooth focusing and the ability to focus to infinity as well as over-focus the G lenses without any modification at all. They were designed to fit rather than crudely modified to fit.

If someone wants springs designed for their laser, without messing around with stuff, then here's the perfect place to get them :)

Cheers and have a good one

Id have to agree with Ryan, I regularly buy springs from cliff and gary and these are a little bit cheaper. Shipping is kind of ridiculous though it shouldn't cost nearly that much going by weight. I sent some marbles out a few weeks ago which are obviously way heavier and only paid 2 dollars to ship them, i believe it would've been 4 for them to be tracked.

Hmm I'll see what I can do, with light packet international, I pay about $5 to the US and about $7.50 Internationally.

I'll pull it down to $4 to the US, that should help you guys a bit. To get you guys a little more interested, I'll have a 10% off sale from today, to Saturday July 14 on all quantities

Have a great one,
Ryan

I wasn't even aware that these outer focusing springs were
available by other LPF sellers and yours seem to be be in line
with their pricing.

As has been stated numerous times before... competition is
is a good thing for the consumer.

BTW.. From Canada to the USA and International through
the PayPal/Canada Post shipping service we also choose
Light Packet International for low cost items..
