I purchased an M140 diode from DTR for use in my DIY bench top build and I am loving it. DTR shipped it out very fast (thanks) and the packaging kept the diode very well protected. DTR was really helpful with all the questions I had. I pushed the M140 up to 1634mW without any problems and this was using an AIXIZ 3 element AR coated lens, if I had used a 405-G1/G2 instead I would have gotten around 1,960mW
This is a test run I did a few days ago also using a 3 element AIXIZ lens. If I had used a G1/G2 (using a conservative estimate of 20% higher transmittance) I would have been getting better than 1mA/1mW efficiencies.
Heres the graph.

I received my second M140 diode today and i'm currently waiting for the thermal adhesive to dry. Once it's ready to run I will be doing another efficiency test on it and posting the graph.

Off topic question to anyone here, but what do you guys use for beam shots as far as smoke is concerned? Sorryto ask here but I didn't want to bother everyone with a new thread nor do I know how to start one. |

I also like to use long exposure shots with no smoke or very little. Works really well. |

Ok so I finally got the chance to do the power testing with my new M140 diode from DTR. Just want to thank DTR for the diode. So this my second M140 diode.
M140 445nm diode mounted in lab heat sink
G2 lens used.
Here's the power graph. My laserbee A power meter only goes up to 2W so thats the highest reading I have. I need to get the LE 5W laserbee. As you can see at 1,500mA I am getting over 2W output!!!!!!
And here is the data in text format
mA-mW
0-0
50-0
100-0
150-27
200-96
250-183
300-266
350-352
400-437
450-519
500-603
550-689
600-766
650-852
700-930
750-1,010
800-1,100
850-1,173
900-1,242
950-1,314
1,000-1,390
1,050-1,469
1,100-1,541
1,150-1,592
1,200-1,667
1,250-1,738
1,300-1,800
1,350-1,862
1,400-1,931
1,450-1,981
1,500-2,000+
EDIT- Here is the graph from my other M140 diode which appears to be a little less efficient. This was also taken with a G2 lens.
EDIT- Anybody is free to use, reproduce and alter these graphs as they please.

Name is Knobbe | Yep I saw it. It was an E-Check so it will take a few days to clear. Paypal estimates "Pending Until Jan 23, 2012". |

No problem. You could tie a credit card to your PP account and payments made from you bank account will process immediately if you have a card. They don't have to be charged to the card it just acts as a secondary source if the bank payment does not go through.

You sure will with a tracking number. Also you can always log into paypal and see the status. It should show you that paypal has not yet made the payment to me and they estimate it going through on the 23rd. |
