Default DrLava's FS thread: kryton blu, 1W 808, 250mW 532

Ok, it's time to make room in the bank for some other projects. *I'm selling a few of my nicest lasers to drum up funds for future and current projects. *If you are under 18, you must get your parents to purchase the laser. *Because of the potential danger of the powers of radiation from these, no sales to minors (sorry).

3 great lasers for sale, each new:

1) The 'pearl' anodized Kryton Smooth with FlexDrive Switchmode driver and 6x blu-ray diode set to 130mW. $550
Warning: high power laser radiation.

SOLD!
2) 1W (output) 808nm focusable burning laser/torch. *Warning: invisible laser radiation.

SOLD!
3) 250mW+ 532nm focusable portable laser. *Warning: High power laser radiation. *
This has been tuned up and the contacts coated with noalox for reliable operation. *Looks the same as the 808nm, but in a regular presentation box, not case.

Each can pop balloons and light matches at dramatic distances, but you already new that .

130mW blu-ray for $550.

Granted, it is the best damn quality around and looks sweet as. But people can buy just as powerful blu-rays for much cheaper these days, total market saturation I do hope you sell it though.

That's true, you could buy some overdriven xbox diode laser, but the 6x diodes are a different breed, will last much longer at high powers. Plus, a drop-in upgrade to one of IgorT's future lenses will increase the output even more without needing any other change. In addition, the Kryton this is offered in allows for superb heatsinking for long run-times, and is hand-anodized and buffed, waxed for a one-of-a-kind smooth look and feel. Quality!

thanks for looking!

Hi, the Kryton 1 (aka Kryton Smooth) was manufactured and shipped as a raw aluminum host. I anodized it in a tub of Sulfuric acid. There is a post detailing this in the Experiments/Mods section. The beam shots are on a humid night, that really brings out the beam!

How do we know that the 405nm laser isn't just housed in a MDF cardboard tube? j/k

Like Dr. Lava said, anyone interested in a high power blu-ray with superb quality should get the one he has for sale. At 130mW it will literally last forever, or at least as long as the diode is designed to run (10k hours?). With a PHR diode at 130mW I doubt you'll get anywhere close to that number of hours.

Indeed. *I think here that the big issue is stability and longevity. *We know that you can push a old school stonetek diode to over 200mw, however, were you going to have a long life laser? *the answer to that was assuredly no. *Yes it may have been a freak and has lasted a few months but can you honestly expect the laser diode to last you YEARS? *The 6x at the power output indicated by lava is not pushing the diode. *Your going to see a good long lasting laser that will continue to put out glorious 405nm light for years to come. *Not to mention the custom anodized Kryton smooth is a great looking host and will be LITERALLY a ONE OF A KIND LASER. (A collectors item if you will)*Well worth the asking price IMO.

If I were looking for a burning bluray, I would have no hesitation about buying that thing. I've bought from him once before with a custom job, and I'm impressed.

I can't get over how much the Doc's work kicks ass. 8-)

Hey drlava,I've bought one of this 1W laser directly from S-KY and I'm about to receive it,but they couldn't provide an answer about what's the on/off cycle for it to avoid overheating, the only answer I got is that it should only be turned on for about 15s,that sounds to little,I was expecting at least a minute,do you know anything about that?

It should be 5 minutes, but when buying from them, you must deal with them for service. These lasers for sale here, I will service if you have trouble.
