I have 7 Diffraction Gratings for sale, 3 single axis & 4 double axis. $3.00 each or trade all for 2 803-t sleds. Please PM me if interested. Thanks, rob

Hey, umm... i don't know much about diffraction grating, but I'll probably get a one or two of each. I have a few questions though, so... single axis would make a line of like 5 dots, middle being the brightest? Whereas double would make a matrix (if so, how many dots?) Also, how big are the gratings (1" x 1", bigger or smaller?). Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance :)

Also, do you know the DPS (I think thts wat its called, dots per square inch?)

Hi The DF Doubles are 13,500 lines of dots/inch & are 1'' X 1 & 1/4'', The single axis are 1/2 of that. If you have any other questions, just ask. Thanks, rob

Hey Rob,
do you have any single axis 13,500 line gratings... :-?

Jerry

;D Your threads all in a row look like a flea market LMAO Actually with that crap your pitching not to far off :-? D'oh!

So the singla axis ones are like dots in a straight line:
.................................................................

And the double axis ones are like a "matrix"
.........................
.........................
.........................
........................

Thanks

Yeah... that is correct.... 8-)

The single Axis MAY HAVE 13,500 DPI, Jerry, it just doesn't say so, but there ARE a LOT of dots in the SINGLE AXIS, arranged in horizontal rows like you depicted. However the 13,500 DPI DOUBLE MATRIX GRATINGS, have their dots arranged in a repeating pattern shaped like the plus sign, but in continuous pattern, like this
+++++++
+++++++
+++++++ All of the lines of dots fill in the entire Diffraction Grating Sheet, whether they are the Single or Double Matrix Patterns. I just thought that I'd clear the description up a bit. I HOPE I did, & didn't confuse things :-/ :-/ :-? :-? :-? rob

Actually Rob... the 13,500 Lines Per Inch refers to the actual spacing of lines on the diffraction
grating film (they do cover the entire film)... and not to the Dots Per inch that you see on a wall...

In a single axis grating you only get one row of dots on a wall when shinning a laser through it..
Where... with a dual axis grating you get a Grid of dots in both the horizontal and vertical directions... ;)

BTW... it was "robjdixon" that queried the Dots layout... ::)

Thanks Jerry, see I KNEW I'd confuse things more. I should have just kept quiet :-[ :-[ :-? :-? :. My apologies to all, my thanks to Jerry for clarifying the mess I made of things with my "explanation???" ;D ;D..........rob

I'll take one of each then.
Thanks Guys
I think Rob only has the Dual Axis.... that will give you the Grid (matrix) pattern... 8-)
