What currents are you setting these GGWs to, to achieve 245mW after plastics?

Among 60+ GGWs i only found ONE that was capable of 236mW at 200mA.
And i don't set them higher than that, cos i want them to last a minimum of a year or more of normal pointer use. And even that requires me to weed out 15-20% of the weaklings! :cryyy:


So where is your "secret"? Or is it more current?

Or are you using the SF-AW 6x diodes for higher efficiency? Haven't tested any yet myself, but would like to.. Do you have any experience with those?

Are you talking about the BDR-S03's?

Did you do any plots by any chance or other kind of testing, something i could compare my test results to?

How many S03's did you go through?

A friend of mine informed me of your complaint in my thread.

I am thinking about buying a high powered burner and Im outside of the USA so US law should not be a problem in my case.

I was actually thinking about the 400+mW BLU-RAY one. I would love to have a good burning laser while not spending a fortune for it. Am I right to assume a blue-ray laser is better at burning at the same mW as, for example, a red laser?

What host do you recommend for it? Does the pocket mini really allow for a good enough battery charge to last it for awhile?

I would also need to get new safety goggles since I guess the goggles for red lasers isnt going to protect my eyes against blu-ray lasers.

As for the order I just have to wait until after the 25;th (pay day).

Would you do some soldering for me please, so i can see what you do for $20 USD?


EDIT: Like, could you please make me a 5.7-5.9V dummy load? I have some FlexDrives i need to set?


I'll pay your standard laser build fee (even double), just to see one dummy load's worth of soldering - and i do realize it takes as much soldering as five of your classic lasers - but you don't even need a driver, and the parts cost a whopping $1USD...

I just need a dummy with two wires coming out of it... :)

You don't want a honest in depth review of your SOLDERING SKILLZ from a fellow builder?


I'll be gentle i promisse, as long as your solder joints stay put. Doesn't even have to look good.



All it needs is a few regular Si diodes some Schottkys and two wires.
