SOLD

I have one last 2W+ 9mm 445nm full kit left

These come with the Kryton Groove host. They are 9mm hosts.
They are complete, new hosts with the focus adapter.
These are lightly anodized to cut down on fingerprints etc.
You will have to wire brush the contact points and threads ;)

They come with the 9mm 445nm diode from a BenQ projector
These come with the high output (G-type) lens attached to the diode.
They have the 2.2A X-Drive driver

They will come with a 3-element glass lens as well, so you can use the laser while you wait for a lens nut for the high output lens from DTR or Jayrob

They come with all of the parts needed to build the laser except solder ;)

They are $100 each, shipped in the US. International shipping will be additional.

As before, first paid, first served

Peace,
dave

Re: daguin: 2W+ Kryton 9mm 445nm Kits

Hi, Dave!

I am interested. What does the new BenQ 9mm diode typically output at 2.2A with the 3 element glass lens?

Thanks.

Individual diodes vary, but in general 2W+

I do have a couple questions if you feel like writing...

(1) The threads in the focus adapter are pretty deep, meaning the focus isn't right unless the lens is only "partially engaged" in the focus adapter. My solution was some Teflon tape on the "far end" of the lens, to keep it from changing position in the focus ring, then lots of trial/error getting the right position. Is there a better solution?

(2) The thing heats up FAST with the 9mm / 2.2A. From your experience, what you would suggest as a duty cycle? Seems something like 30s on / 60s off, but would like to know what your recommendation is.

Thanks again. Nice to have all the needed components together from one place!

Yeah. You can use a contact board or simply use a spring for battery contact

1) The depth of the threading has always been a challenge with hosts like this.
There is always a bit of trial and error, because different types of lenses required different focal lengths.
I usually start with a bit of teflon tape to make it more secure.
Then, when I have the right depth for that particular lens, I add a spot of silicone at the lens/holder junction to keep it in place

2) The 9mm diode is really pretty tough.
Also, "duty cycle" is effected by too many variables to make a "rule".
I just let them cool when I feel it becoming "uncomfortable".
Remember, a warm host/heatsink is the heat being pulled away from the diode/driver ;)

Peace,
dave

Re: daguin: 2W+ Kryton 9mm 445nm Kits -- 4 for $400, Shipped

I just offered this to a member in PM, so I thought I would give the offer to the whole forum

If you buy all four of these kits, I will give it to you for $400, shipped.
If you want the two without the batteries and switch, as well, I will add them to the box for an additional $180 ($580 total for all six kits)

Peace,
dave

Re: daguin: 2W+ Kryton 9mm 445nm Kits -- $100, Shipped

Well, these are all wrapped ready to ship.
I have to decide if I unwrap them and do the builds myself or try selling them individually (or even sell the parts).
This will be the last price reduction on these kits.

$100, each, shipped in the US

If you want one or two without the batteries and switch,
I will sell them at $90 each

I had this very problem with some adapters i got from flaminpyro. he may be able to send you some small metal cylinders the same width as the lenses, to put in ahead of the lens. he can send you different height cylinders, you may need a long one for a g lens and a short one for a 3 element. then you can screw the lens into the adapter tight, no teflon fuss or silicone

great deal btw, I'm almost tempted myself, consider it a bump, not that one is really needed

Would you consider selling one of these kits assembled...? If so, how much?

**IF** I decide that I need/want to assemble these for sale, I will close this thread and post them in my main "for sale" thread at a reasonable price.

http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/u...hand-helds-labby-s-hene-hecd-oh-my-84838.html

These kits are part of a batch of stuff that I put together last month when an emergency required quick funds.
Since they were (and remain) all already packaged up for sale as kite, I just left them here as a deal to the members.

Assembly is not difficult ;)
Both my self and other members of this forum can and will help instruct someone how to do it

Re: daguin: 2W+ Kryton 9mm 445nm Kits -- $90, Shipped -- No switch kits

All I have left now are the two kits without batteries or switches.
I have both on order.
I will sell them at $90 each, until I get the batteries and switches
