A case pin would be great, maybe he solders a small wire to the copper module before the diode is seated?
I am planned on taking this module out of another host so I can't have it ordered that way.

That is gunna get hella-hot! But I want a 2 watt 1 x 10440 pen :evil:

Any suggestions? Planning to heat sink the ic to the 12mm copper module.

I have that 1.5w e2 and it about the same thickness, but not the same weight. These should handle heat well. Just thinking how to make your driver contact the host without having to worry about shorting. If you got a small diameter copper rod the same as the inside diameter, you could cut a piece to fit on the back of the driver and contact the inside of the host. Easier said than done of course.
