Werent these the ones that were able to stay on as long as i want to keep them on? without severe damage to the diode

If you need to keep a phr lasing for more than 5 minutes at a time, regularly, I'd look into a lab style...

It is great at reasonable duty cycles (i.e. 1-3 minutes on; 1-3 minutes off) I really just see no reason to run a phr pointer longer than that. I actually don't see a reason to run it longer than a couple minutes at a time, but maybe that's just me.

for now the host will be the same host as all the other lasers....
the green alone will prob be $150, haven't come up with a price yet for a RGB set yet....

Why don't you make a 200mw blueray one with a ggw instead of the 6x copy.

If its 75 USD for a phr one and you take 10 USD off that for the phr diode then add on 60 USD for ggw its 145 USD.

About the rgb set that sounds cool I'd only even think about it if you used a ggw instead of the fake 6x.

i will be switching to GGW, infact the last set that was ordered is getting a GGW 6x diode, and it'll stay that way as long as hightechdealz is offering them......but i can't rely on random GB's to get the GGW diode.....
and the 200mW cost more cause it's much riskier.....if i screw up on a phr it's gonna cost me like 10-12 dollars.....i screw up on a 6x build it's going to cost me 60-70.....

And might I add, Matt, that phr build you made me is kicking strong  ;)

I cut down the plastic lens holder and shoved a small AR-coated (not sure for what) glass lens in there:

And for some reason it's brighter than the Aixiz acrylic that was in there

Beamshot from my webcam, the only thing that captures the beam that I have to take pictures:

yes I know I am the noob on the forum haha, but just to throw in my two cents worth, the AR-glass is a lot better than aixiz acrylic one, I haven't been able to test that lense yet, but rumor is according to some tests on a laserbee it adds about 10-15mW as well just with that modification.

i think it depends on the lens.....IRC from jayrob's finding, the aixiz acrylic is actually better than the Aixiz glass lens.....
i'd say if you've got the money to spend....get one of jayrob's 405-g-1 lens.....cause who doesn't want to add 30% to their laser output?

Mohrenberg;

On my PHR BR, the Aixiz glass lens outperformed the Aixiz plastic lens just slightly.

The Aixiz plastic lenses vary quite a bit from my testing (about ~ 74% transmission)
Any glass AR coated short FL lens may outperform it.

Of course the new Hi-Power lens is the most efficient on BR (96.5% according to Milos).
