I'm lookin to raise a little money. so I'm selling one of my most recent purchases. It is a 9W IR coherent FAP diode. I've tested this and it does work. I have a blast playing with this thing as it scorches stuff unfocused but it does come with a fiber collimator to focus it down to a very small dot. I'll post some videos of this burning and pictures here very soon

Asking price is $150 shipped to anywhere.

Which FAP package is this? The smaller module with only the power input and fiber output or the larger TEC cooled FAP module with the small part inside?

Price drop to $100... that's shipped. I figure $150 is a teenie bit too much.

On how much voltage it works?
It could be portable?
could you sell safety goggles with it?
Ofek.

(I am interest, but i`m noob and want little info.)

it does not have a model number or serial number written anywhere on the diode. I do know that it's not a 808nm diode. requires 2-3v at 10-20A and can be portable if you really good. I don't have goggles for this wavelength sorry.

Generally 1.8V typical and 2.2V MAX for these diodes, at maybe 12-15A.

Would be difficult to make it portable.

bum-bum-bum BUMP! This should have sold already, a 9W for $100 is a very good deal.

Edit: 90th post

(couldnt resist! hehe)

uhm, yes.. actually I lurked ebay for weeks to find a 40w+ FAP. didnt work out, perhaps its better this way.. *g*

Excellent price for a starter FAP. Get multiWatt for less than pennies a mW

i cant believe noone got this yet. put a relatively cheap fiber into it, and voila! lasercuter, laser-engraving-pen, laserpowered coffeemaker, endless possibilities! you will probably never get a laser in this output-class with such a nice beam! without a fiber, such a laser emits a fat rectangle, which isnt useful for much.. but here, come on, you can even build a labby with a decent collimated beam from that!
9 watts! :-)

kenom, you have to find some youtube-vids to do this goodie justice! :-)

I can be interested if there was a way for integrate a guide diode, or if was a visible unit (i mean, 808 or 795 nm, so i can see the focusing point also with goggles on)

You really don't know anything about the wavelenght ? ..... not also just dim visible ? (maybe a 980 or 1065 nm unit from some engraving machine ?)
