Default Re: CNI 400mw green labby and scanpro20 for sale

Just to put things in perspective, here's the same laser new:

LP532-400 400mw 532nm green CNI DPSS lab laser. - eBay (item 350174272201 end time Aug-02-09 03:29:17 PDT)

$1045.60 shipped brand new

and the same scanners new:

SCANPRO20, 20k laser galvo scanner set. yag argon dpss - eBay (item 250424449929 end time Aug-12-09 01:55:29 PDT)

$304.57 shipped brand new

While I would typically not presume to question one's pricing, your prices do seem a tiny bit high for used equipment. Lasers are not really any different than any other item. Used is used. It doesn't really matter much how many hours (if any) are on it, within reason. Once the packaging has been breached, it is used. It's tough to sell used equipment for nearly the same price that it costs new, and if you buy new you get a warranty through the manufacturer and a return time window from the distributor. Are you providing a personal warranty yourself, because I highly doubt that the warranty will transfer when you sell the items?

You are deducting approx. $100 off the cost of the laser (new) and approx. $50 off the cost of the scanners (new). Speaking only for myself here, it's worth it to me to pay the extra money for the support that comes from doing business with a professional distributor.

To be clear here, I'm not trying to hurt your sales, I'm just trying to look out for potential buyers. Based on a direct comparison with the same items bought new from a distributor, I feel that your prices are a tiny bit on the high side. If you feel that they are fair, then it is your prerogative to stay at those prices.

The voice of reason speaks - Thanks EF! I never said for a second that these were bad products or that there was any reason not to buy them if they are what you're looking for, thanks for explaining what I was trying to say a little better than I did!

And Ben, I'm assuming your price list is the same one used by a major display manufacturer that buys hundreds if not thousands of modules from CNI on an annual basis - I mean, why would THEY get a far better price than you can, right? Seriously, if you really think your purchasing power or pricing privilege can stand up against that of a company like Shinp, I've got a bridge venture you may be interested in investing in. I'll forward you the price list

Been out of the "Laser Loop" for several years - WHY didn't anyone TELL me we now had Green and real BLUE diodes, especially measured in WATTS !?!?!?!

Starting over, still have my Kryton BDR Build at 401mW and one of the first Eghamus hosts with an O-like module that has faded from 151mW to about 45mW at TEM01 over the years, LOL - still have my LaserBee 1 though

That laser you linked is not quite the same. Mine has analog control already which is at an additional cost. It is pretty much the same other than that though.

The scanpro I have is brand new, not used. It's still in the box it was shipped to me in.

That being said I'm dropping the price to $1000 for the set shipped in the US. I'm also open to offers. Whether I accept them or not is another story but it can't hurt to ask me.

If anyone wants just the laser or scanpro seperate make me an offer. I don't think I will be checking this thread anymore because it reminds me of why I stopped coming to this forum.

Anyone who is interested in purchasing the laser or scanpro send me a PM so that I get an email notification.

If my post has reflected badly on the forum, I sincerely apologize. That being said, if you feel that way about this forum I'm not sure why you returned.
