Hey guys, for sale is a one of a kind WL E2 that I converted into a 1w+ beast. It is focusable, has a 445 AR coated lens, and comes with 4 14500 900mah Batteries.

Duty Cycle : 40s on 20s off

This should put out AT-LEAST 1W peak. The driver is a 1.25A Jib Linear Driver. The batteries even at 2C will supply the driver. The A-140 unless dying usually puts out at least the number of Amps of the driver is supplying.

Also, the front has 3M 3D Di-Noc Carbon fiber skin on it because it makes the front look a little "cleaner". In the camera it did not come out so well.

This was my last laser I have built and by far my favorite. Car insurance is a must, so what I do not need, must go. :(

The saftey feature of this laser is still in tact and works correctly.

CONUS ONLY

$185 shipped!

I have the right to refuse ANY offers for ANY reason.

Here is the video then pics:

Pretty cool build. Definitely a huge improvement over the original.

You may want to post some pictures of the whole package and the laser itself. Also upload the video to youtube so you can put it directly on here.

Good luck with the sale:beer:

What would the duty cycle be on that?

Going to take a wild guess and say 45 seconds on, 1 minute off. Unless there is a long sleeve copper heat sink in there.

That's the compromise of smaller builds... have to watch the duty cycle very carefully. If the thermal conductivity to the host is good, it's not really a problem though, since if you feel the laser is warm, that means it's time to turn it off and give it a rest.

45 seconds is enough for me. Estimated lifetime left on diode?

Well, now you're just asking for the impossible:na:

AFAIK there is really no solid data on how long the a140's last in our handhelds.

The only question you could ask is how much use use LD has on it... and even that would be a very poor guide, since the ld's do vary quite a bit.

I had over a dozen 445nm lasers... so far the only one that died on me was one that I killed through my own stupidity. On all my lasers I try to stick to a 1 minute on, one minute off duty cycle, except the mini builds on which it's more like 30 seconds on, 30 off.

Lol. Hopefully dunn never abused the duty cycles :). 1 minute is too short for me when i have fun with my lasers.

Well now I'm :thinking::confused: which is it?:p

I really doubt he would have abused the laser since he knows what he's doing with them in general.

Forgot to mention the keywords "big hosts" in previous post. True i would LOVE 1.5 minutes in a pen host, but thats slim..

You may want to talk to wannaburn... I got one of his powerlight lasers, and the thing has basically an unlimited duty cycle at lowest setting of ~200mW. Still enough to show a beam outdoors, in plenty of light.

What made it possible is a kind of sleeve heatsink that went the length of the host.

Other option is ehgemus... his pen hosts should be able to handle 90 seconds, maybe a somewhat reduced power, but even so... should be ok.

Lol, maybe you can convince someone to machine you a host completely out of copper... I hear it's a major pain in the @$$ to work with copper though.

Sorry for the OT Dunn:p

Tried an ehgemus pen, didnt like it, wannaburn's is most likely a high price range lol. Im still interested in his dual build though, but i CANT buy it no matter what. It would kill my budget.

Re: FS: ONE OF A KIND wl e2 445 +4 Batteries AUCTION [Video]

Hey guys, just got to work, I honestly have not used this laser more that 2 minutes total simply because I have had no time to and its almost too cool to use...30 seconds on 20 off is what id stick to, thats when it starts to warm up a little bit. You could go past that but i like to play it safe :) I'd hate to see this laser die after all the ridiculous work I've put into creating it.

Okay, back to work for me, happy bidding!

Well, looks like no one bid on this at all? I would take it if i knew the output verified by an LPM

Its driver is jibs linear at 1.25a...the batteries are 600mah iirc...I'm currently walking to class so I am not sure...so even at a 2c discharge rate it should be putting out 1.2 amps...and the a140's usually put out more than the amps they are fed...talk to infinitus or mark.
