Re: For sale : NEW 2.5+Watt Black Mamba, very solid blue laser !

This laser seems to be very good :yh: . I'd like to have to replace my Rifle Lazerer of 1W (first generation) and aging to complete my green laser of 700 mW Laserbtb which I had bought from Tman.
Blord, to know, what is your price in euros? :D

All these cheesy names should go away imho :) Krypton, Black mamba, Sabre, Big boy jeez :) If I show off a laser to friends there is no way I'll call it that. I think, don't name it if you did not design it from scratch and give it a proper name if it already has one to begin with.

***edit***
If the laser isn't outputting 2.5 Watt or higher at any point I will refund the money completely and you may keep the laser. :D

Hey Blord I realise you stand behind your work, but this statement could be taken way too literally and you could very easily find yourself out of pocket....:whistle:Just saying

Edit: Very nice laser btw good luck with the sale!:)

Re: For sale : NEW 2.5+Watt Black Mamba, very solid blue laser !

Man, this went downhill fast.

RHD: I'd like to apologise if copying the name of the host is offensive in any way - Blord came to me asking if I could make heatsinks for several new finds on a website, among which I recognised the host that's the same as what you used to sell, and I instantly refered it to as "Sabre" host. I mean, you were the first to find it, and name it, and I thought it shouldn't be renamed, so it kind of stuck.

Heatsink in that laser is made by your original designs sent to me some time ago, also. Can't blame a good host for being popular, right? :p

In short, you can demand cease and desist on the heatsink sales from me - if anybody else wants to make a laser in this same host (which is what you'd like to avoid, AFAIK, correct?), they'd need to first find the host, order it, design the heatsink, and have it made by somebody other than me.

This should pretty much secure that the few lasers that are in the Sabre host already stay that way - a few. I would honor such a request without a second thought.
Cool?

Good idea!
At least a heat sink was designed by someone and is not a public common available part.

I understand all the arguments and sensibilities involved but by the same token it is hard to argue that someone can not buy a flashight of a given type and make it into a laser--other than as a courtesy maybe.

Is supposed to be a hobby for people to enjoy open to everyone ---this is a public forum for that purpose.

Guys, you are taking this TOO seriously. Now you start copyrighting the lasers by giving them names? That's some serious bullshit. It's not like the lasers you build will no longer sell because someone happened to use the same name for them. By using the same name as one of rhd's builds Blord might have only tried to tell the buyers that it's basically the same laser as the one rhd made.
So let me see. If i were to name the c6's im selling here, you all who turn c6 hosts into lasers would basically have to credit me right? Come on, I thought you guys were smarter than that.
On the other hand, nice threadjack...
