Re: FS: $60 - Complete Lasers - 100mW BR/ 240mW Red

I can chime in on that one...

I don't know if he includes batteries, but CR2's come in 3 volt primaries, 3.0/3.6 volt rechargeable, and also 3.6(or 3.7)/4.2 volt rechargeable as well.

If you get the 3.0/3.6 ones, there is a special charger you must get for them.

The 4.2 max volt ones can be charged with the same charger that you use for an RCR123, but you just need a little spacer for the fit...

FYI: Green o-like modules fit wonderfully in these hosts with one 14500 battery....Mine looks awesome. Cut the back part of an aixiz module off and stick it on the end of the heatsink to make an aperture cover....gives it a nice look.

Great idea. How much for an extra heatsink? I might want to build a convertable.

they are 3.6v batteries, and reach a voltage of 4.25 at full charge

I got my 100mW BR yesterday. Very nice, and smaller than what I thought it would be. Thanks Mohrenberg.

P.S. when its focused right, its a burning maching. My keyboard, monitor, mouse pad, and phone are now etched with my name. lol

I thoguht charging LI batteries to 4.25v was dangerous. I think I might just fork out the money for the Pila Charger, and eventually some AW cells, but I'd need to find some spacers.

Last time I bought CR2's from lighthound.com, they included spacers with them!

Not sure if that is their normal policy, but they also list the spacers on their site...

If they are Li+, then they will not go up to 4.25. It is impossible without exploding, a single Li+ cell will go up to 3.7v, no higher safely, and not below 2v without damage or something. So you would need NiMH or NiCd as they go up to around 4.8 or 4.96 with 4 cells, respectively. that is if it is a common rechargeable.

Hey just to clarify... Normally, Li-Ion batteries will charge to 4.2 volts.

But with CR2's, there are two rechargeable voltages available. There are the 3.0/3.6 ones. And there are also 3.6/4.2 ones. Different chargers are required depending on which ones you get...
