how well do these work and how long have you had it? I have wanted one for awhile and almost bought one last year but always been skeptical of the performance.

This one is actually a real quality model, not a cheap novelty. It performs very well. The range indoors is 10-25 meters, and outdoors in an open area its closer to 5 meters. Depends on the signal strength really, the jammers output has to be stronger than the cell tower in order for it to work, that's why when indoors it works best. Go into a mall or Walmart and ppl lose signal all over. And one cool thing I discovered is the overlooked fact that most wireless devices are on the 2.4/2.5ghz range which is covered by the jammer, IE: Xbox controllers, wireless mouse+keyboard, wireless hand scanners at th checkout register in stores etc...

I mainly used it for the break room at my work where a couple ppl would watch YouTube videos at max volume totally bothering me....

I've had it since June and its only been through a couple full charge/discharge cycles.

I'm pretty sure it would be under a similar context as lasers? Kinda one of those things you have and use on the down low and don't discuss much with ppl?

Yeah but I believe the difference between lasers and this is; you WILL get arrested if the police find out. Lasers not so much, I've shown my lasers off to cops in town when they stop by my house......

I agree itd be a cool thing to have but I dont want to be arrested for owning so ill have to check into the legality of it

Oh absolutely, I agree. Jammers very much are illegal. A little more prominently illegal, but in the same regard, cops arent too well versed in lasers but may have just as much trouble identifying a jammer. I walked through security at monster jam with it in my hand, the cop asked what that thing in my hand was and I said "signal booster, keeps my cell signal high". No questions further asked. So in my opinion its at the discretion of the buyer/user same as with lasers.

Yeah a guy wanted to make something to fry networks temporarily and we said we don't support stuff like that here...

We don't really like people trying to sell mini EMPs here.

The odds of you being arrested for having a laser, assuming you're not a f*tard shining it at planes, people, cars, animals, etc,. are very low. So long as you're not hurting anyone, or doing something that directly affect another person, they tend not to care much.

Cell phone jammers are (IMHO) in another category. They do actively affect the people around you, and you will be arrested if they find out what it is. Also not all cops are morons... they notice patterns. You may well get away with using it many times, but is it worth the risk?

If you intend to turn your house into a faraday cage, and want to prevent people from being able to use cell phones inside, go for it... if you want to block my signal, I hope you get arrested.

OK its not a debate of legality here guys! The thread was approved by a moderator to even appear in this section, and if any moderators ask me to remove the thread I will without an issue. If nobody shows any interest in a few days then I'll blank out the thread myself.

Only in America can you own a firearm but not a jammer. It's not like they cause any harm unless you use it to block aircraft or emergency response comm. I'm more worried about the idiots that do dumb things with lasers to cause harm to others.

If this thing had a stronger signal it would be the BEST thing in America to own when driving. The danger other people put me in each day while chatting behind the wheel make me sick but cops don't touch the subject and soccer mom's get their way.

Agreed. Using a phone while driving is illegal here, but I still see it every day. Pisses me off more than drunk drivers because these people do not have their judgement impaired yet they still do it.

Yup, it would be nice to see a model to be used in the car with maybe a 75 meter range to keep the traffic around you focused on driving.

So you're driving along to an appointment. Not an area you're familiar with and you're using your cell phone for gps. It's held on the windshield and if someone happens to call you, well, you're on bluetooth.

Then for some odd reason the signal is lost. You have a general idea of where you're going, but no map. Hmm, probably a dead spot. No big deal. Except the signal just won't come back, not to mention your music streaming is also cut off.

Hmm. Better try to restart it, pull the battery. Nope didn't help. Somehow make it to the appointment only 20 minutes late after the signal suddenly comes back and you can figure it out, but who's gonna put up with that crap? Better spend a couple of hours with tech support, on the phone and then in store to get the faulty phone replaced. What a lovely way to spend some time. Except those bastards, well, they tell you there is nothing wrong with it.

Ahh well, you write it off as just another one of those life isn't fair moments.

Anyone remember the age before cellphone's and GPS or even the internet? It was so difficult to live not sure how the human race survived that era but we did :)
