Can anyone make me a powerful handheld laser burner for up to 80 USD?

I am and have always been obsessed I don't mind about colour as long as it is not pink/purple and even suggestions of who could would be much appreciated!
I am not talented enough to make one my self but I am learning and hopefully will be able to soon.

I think a red build may be your best bet for around $80. Keep yours open in the BST section and I'm sure a couple will pop up. Make sure you get laser goggles that will protect against whatever wavelength laser you end up buying.

You need to be more specific... powerful to you and powerful
to others will not be the same at all...

Go to the B/S/T section and see what is for sale.....

Yes, You should get one of the LPC-836 builds, They put out quite a handsome amount of red.. ~440mW peaks.

Im not going to be dangerous with it I am used to guns and other dangerous items and already own safety goggles. Also I could do with a laser that has some kind of safety mechanism to stop others potentially using it, a key maybe?

So you really want a IR laser? LZLK - Multi Safety 808nm 500mW Focusable NIR Infrared Laser Pointer

That one has a key lock. Hopefully you realize that the dot will be barely visible and that the beam will not be visible. With IR, glasses are not recommended, they are mandatory! Make sure they block out 808nm.

I would recommend this one instead, its a 200mw red laser with a key lock.

On pure burning power im assuming the smaller the beam width the more focused the power. Which one of the two judged on reliability and power is better, and can I get something like this through uk customs?

IR is plain boring. Reds are cool, but it's harder to come by cheap goggles, so I would go for a cheap burning green and just buy one from some place like O-like since greens are usually not built. Make sure you have actual goggles made for lasers, not just sunglasses, not some welding goggles. Those red laser enhancement goggles work okay for green--almost too well--but will protect your eyes for the most part. The green will show a nice beam, burn, and look good.

If you don't care about color I'd still go with a red like suggested above. You'd get more for your money on the ir side but coming from someone still pretty new to owning lasers those scare me to death. The ir lasers you wouldn't e able to hand to any of your friends comfortably after seeing one (or not seeing it technically) in person. Check out lazerer they've got some good prices on reds and they're power certified.

I can't believe anyone who has been here for over a week EVER recommends an IR laser to a new member...

They didn't recommend it, I asked for it and no offence but just because I joined this site a week ago doesn't mean i'm incapable of handling a laser

Meh, you could have got a higher powered red for cheaper.

I hope you bought safety goggles.

EDIT: LOL! You posted a thread about buying safety goggles around 30 secs before my post, goodjob! :D
