100-150mw atleast which is capable of burning, has a visible beam and very bright of course oh and it must be green <3.

I have a budget of anything up to £150 max and I live in the Uk aswell.

I have another forum post here about buying a laser if anyone is able to recommend me a product, link and a short reason why its a good one ;).

You could buy primary's or have Dark make you a 200mw green.

200mw green sounds cool, and larry has a lens that will push it above 200mw with a tighter beam

Well Primary your sig says DIY and I said I dont wanna build anything ;).

TheMandalorian could you put me in touch with them atall, do they have msn or what if you could share me it :D??
I know if I order one off a website it will be
"< 150mw" etc and be a fake :/. So I thought lets join this site and read up and I must say your posts are always those of great thought and usefulness :O! thumbs up!

What primary is selling is not a DIY kit (although it was originally). It is a fully functional laser right out of the box. That is an awesome deal too, he's taking quite a loss. I would snatch up that deal quick ;)

search, read and keep reading. looking through the for sale section will show you what is available as far as modules, diodes, kits to make your own, drivers, everything. and primary's laser isnt a you do it yourself. its from a guy on here who offers a "DIY green kit" primarys laser already has the module and has been assembled. its ready to go and a really good deal considering the parts for that laser will run you close to $140

Its all very nice no doubt in that but 100mw lacks the burning power surely and looking at the vids I want a laser which has a visible beam in daylight not a barly seeable one etc but an actual beam :D.
So are kits simply screw bit togheter at the most no soldering etc.. anyone can do it basis?

"Daylight" covers a lot of territory. If you mean outside in sunlight, simply forget it. Inside without artificial lights, ok. But don't expect a solid green bar (as in comics). Visible in daylight is barely visible.

EDIT: unless you've got a high amount of air pollution!

Lol I dont mean it like that having a beam super clear but atleast visible without it being a little tiny, tiny beam :p.

What sort of burning power is an 100mw anyway?
Thx for the posting so far everyone!

a 100mw laser will pop balloons, light dark matches, burn dark colored plastic/cloth, and sting skin

my o-like module that was suppose to be 100mW, but it instantly starst burning anything black, will sting your skin and lights red matches, i know for a fact it's over 100mW because it lights matches alot easier than my last one and my last one was 115mW

hey marcus,

the DIY kit includes screwing a few pieces together (like a flashlight, really) and soldering a wire across the switch (which I've done on the 100mW module).

It can light red heading matches in a couple seconds, and the beam is definitely not going to be like some videos you see on youtube (with smoke of some sort).

If you want, I can just sell you the kit without the module for $60+ shipping, and then you can get Darkarmyofone to build you a more powerful module.

I don't think Dark can build modules. He could sell you one soon though when he becomes the supplier of domestic green modules.

themandalorian:Will this lens make an O-like module have the same or nearly the same divergence/beam tightness an an Opto 150mW pen pointer? Can you give me a link to one of these lenses? Thanks.

Ahhh so Primary you mean that you would build the 'host' as its called then send it to Dark that would have the module and he would solder it all togheter then send it to me?

I have pm'd dark already infact about his lasers they look very enticing but its good to get a rough idea of what is going on around here because everyone seems so usefull and intelligent hehe ^^.
The prices seem to be lower aswell than alot of companies aswell excluding the fake ones which are "<150mw" and you might get a 50mw :|... so im scared of that realy which is why I came here where I could get a professional view :p
