Well... I have the one right now... I might be giving it to a friend of mine here... so these will probably turn into a per-purchase deal kind of thing as I cannot stock up on $60 diodes. I can't find anywhere that sells them for any cheaper than that and there is no one willing to sell large quantities... because they don't exist! :eek: :eek:

I suppose I can just buy some PS3 diodes and make this a bit weaker and cheaper.... :-?

Thanx;

DDL, I have 2 GB diodes coming and would like one upgraded to a full laser, so I'm interested in your option to do that.

BTW, what is typical divergence of blu-ray diodes?

The divergence is dependent on the optics you use. They themselves are about as divergent as a red LD, but the optics is what makes them nicely collimated. The ones I make are variable focus and come already set for long distance pointing. :)

PM sent for the upgrade.

yes they should be, but i have heard that the acrylic ones lenses can flouresce slightly? don't hold me to that though! ;D

This would be the first I've heard of that. I tested my Aixiz module with acrylic lens against a 1W UV lamp, and didn't see any fluorescence from it. I'll have to see if the laser module can bring it out.
On second thought, maybe they use different acrylic lenses on their modules and still sell them as the same unit?

I too have heard of the plastic lenses that Aixiz sells flourescing...the glass ones they sell are NOT good for up close work, but excellent for far away divergence...possibly they wil work well for the Blu-ray diodes, I will have to give it a shot and see :)

I'll give it a shot as soon as mine (ordered back in April I think) arrive ::)
