I killed an SF-aw210 at 195mAs. however, They can be run at currents as high as 350mAs. It all depends on if you want to take a risk.

Yup, depends on the diode, these are all different.

I just got lucky that it burns so well at 200ma without any signs of degradation.

It's probably getting around 200mW but I cant say for sure.

How much mW does it take to rip through white paper ?

It wouldn't be 200mW, would it? I'd say 160-175mW max?

Ooops.. I forget that it is a boost driver!
Thanks for clearing things up!

Third, I had a bluray with 1117 driver, meaning it used 100 mA precisely. Power start to drop about 15 minutes of usage.

Meaning that 10mAh left in an battery doesn't mean the laser will burn.

Now, since I had 100 mA - 15 minutes run time (then power begins to drop) on TWO batteries
, he cannot have 2 hours on ONE battery with 200 or 300 mA usage.

Now my friend Tabish: How long is the runtime, before need to charge the batt?

No problem, however I still wonder about the runtime
Since he says it is on his first charge still, I'm guessing it is not that bad...
However, my friend to whom I sold my bluray, is also on his first charge, and the laser still burns through plain white copy paper .

That answers that question posted above. Takes much less for a bluray laser to burn through white paper. You would actually had to look through some sort of goggles that pass only 405 nm light. Objects that appear dark would get burned by bluray easily. Objects that appear light in color would not be so easy to burn. Since our vision's 'white' spectrum is composed of 450-700 range (don't pull my word on that), you cannot judge how well will something be burned by bluray laser, from its color.
You would have to look in 400-405 nm spectrum to tell that.
You know what I mean?

Default Re: 6x laser in stainless-steel host for sale !

I just did a comparison of a PHR i just finished with my 6x.

The PHR (freak?) is ripping through white paper too but no as fast as the 6x.

The beam on the 6x is noticeably brighter.

As for the runtime, I think I have a good batch of 10440's.

Still on the first battery.

These batteries are rated at 600mA. I am guessing its overrated and 400mA at best.

Lets assume that the diode uses 200mA at 5v. That's 1W

The current draw the battery would then be 238mA when the battery is at 4.2v.

It would increase to 278mA when the battery hits 3.6v.

By the time the battery is empty (3v), the draw would be 333mA.

This is of course assuming the efficiency is 100%. Ofcourse its not 100%, I don't know the efficiency but its a boost driver so it should be decent.

So lets say the average current drain is 278mA, (the nominal 3.6v value), and the driver is pulling 400mA (assume 70% efficiency),

even then, the run time should be an hour.

Also, not a single offer yet hahaha.

Someone give me a number.....

So the run time is decent! I figured that 10440 with 6x, on a boost driver, cannot last long. I was wrong.

Good luck!

Jayrob make a tiny "keychain" laser-kit that uses a 10440-battery. IRCC, he described runtime as not too bad with a GGW-6X.

I have found the SWF-diodes seam to get much hotter than a GGW at the same current, I usually run these @ 150mW-170mW, but Gooey Gus always encourages me to run much higher.

Great looking laser, beamshots for fun?

Image 2- Laser beam perpendicular to the phone

My iphone makes the beam look very blue.

Still not a single offer though... not even a 1$ offer lol

I guess no one likes it

You might get an offer if you suggest your ballpark.

Or else you are a mighty patient fisher, not tabish impatiento.....

How much run time @ 200mW? How long before it bites the big one? Is the battery a primary, or rechargeable?

Default Re: 6x bluray laser for SALE!

90$ ?
Dayam. I sold my PHR pen build for that (although i included 2x 10440 and a charger).

And yes, AWSOME BEAMSHOTS!
I totaly like this.
Try putting it on your local ad website, I sold a few lasers that way.
And don't worry, I believe you will manage to fins a buyer soon!
Seems like an awsome build!
