Has anyone else actually pulled off this design yet? I haven't seen this before from anyone else.

I was going to put my bluray in the same box as my DIY red, since i have plenty of room.

Since the bluray diode has violet, red, and IR in one case it's not hard to make it switchable.  I did that, just need different regulators or resistors for each.
I'm sure you have to refocus this one when you switch colors.

I figured it's not worth the effort for me as the red is just like a standard powered run of the mill red laser key chain. Maybe adds $4 for the added use of red.

The red is just powerful enough to read dvds, so it wouldn't be anything to wow about.

You wouldn't happen to know the approximate mW capability of the red on the blu-ray diode would ya?

hey now, don't be answering questions to MY product!

show me one bit of proof for the 10mw rating, and I'm talking about a spec sheet, not someone else's post. a spec sheet on the PS3 bluray.

I have the bluray at 38ma's, and the red diode at 25ma's, the bluray is brighter, but only barely.

I got my bleu running at 38mA also. And if you extrapolate the mW from tests other members have done at various mA currents then I'd say 38mA is about 8.2mW of bleu.

Shh, ebay doesn't know that. They expect 4.9999999999999mW or it's not legal!

oh geez, these bluray's have a variance in sensitivity of over 10%! which means this could be more or less powerful than 8mw at 38ma's, what you have is one of the more efficient one's if it's pumping 8mw at 38ma's!


I'll fix that typo on the 605nm, lol, that would be cool though. As soon as I get my power meter everything I sell will be certified :)
