I bought the previous one so I'll comment, though I haven't used it much for lack of goggles.
The unit is as it appears in the picture: very clean, very well done. The cap over the optics in front is glow-in-the-dark.
skram0's packaging was excellent and delivery was remarkable (shipping was included in the price): payment was made at 1:27am on 12/25; it was at my front door at 1:26pm on 12/28. Over the holidays, with Christmas in there.
Operation is simple; you can use either the button to turn it on momentarily or use the switch to turn it on and leave it on. The switch does *not* enable the button: it has two different ways to turn it on. The cap on the end is the safety.
We're not sure of the output power. I'm no good at estimating optical power, certainly not at this wavelength. Definitely enough to make things fluoresce and glow!. The beam doesn't appear to be visible but the spot is - but keep in mind that the eye sees 405nm poorly and often the fluorescence is much brighter than the spot. Against my white wall the spot is just a violet dot I can't quite focus on, but on my socks the spot is a very bright blue.
This does not appear as bright as a 5 mW 635nm: yours eyes don't handle 405nm that well. That's OK because it's really the fluorescence of other things that makes this fun. This is not a Death Ray but rather a relatively "safe" 405nm for making things glow (as much as any 405nm can ever be called "safe") and for showing off a new color to your friends who still think green is special.
In summary: a well made, well packaged 405nm violet, with fast delivery. I'm quite pleased and would buy from skram0 again.
