UPDATE
I'm now offering glow in the dark paints on my site as well, aside from the kit.

Each set works with any 405nm laser pointer as well as with black lights or even sunlight, and comes with the following:
  1. 1 Gram UV Color Changing Powder
  2. 5 Grams Green Europium Glow Powder
  3. 5 Grams Blue Europium Glow Powder
  4. 5 Grams Cyan Europium Glow Powder
  5. 5 Grams Red Europium Glow Powder
  6. 3 x 9/16th" Uranium Glass Marbles
  7. 1 mL Ultra Concentrated UV Fluorescent Dye (Golden Yellow) (approx 10-20 gallons when diluted)
  8. 1 mL Ultra Concentrated UV Fluorescent Dye (Bright Blue) (approx 10-20 gallons when diluted) (NEW)

Payment:

Payment and checkout is now handled through my store page, you can find the glow kit and other glow/uv related items right here
(please still feel free to message me here for any questions or if you run into a problem on the new site)

The Europium glow powders are the newer formulation of glow in the dark, not the kind you find in old glow in the dark toys. When fully charged it will glow many times brighter than regular glow in the dark pigments and for much, much longer. (see my avatar for a sheet of paper coated in this which can be drawn on with a laser)

The color changing powder can be drawn on with a 405nm laser pointer or exposed to sunlight and will fade back to white after about a minute - note that this one does not glow in the dark. All of these can be mixed into paints, plastics, or adhesives to create UV sensitive materials. (now shipped in a poly-bag instead of a vial since some of it was getting stuck inside)

The 3 uranium marbles everyone is probably familiar with, they have a faint yellow/green hue and will fluoresce very brightly when exposed to UV light.

The UV Fluorescent Dye is 1 mL of concentrated liquid, the suggested mixing ratio is 1-2 drops per gallon of water, it has a very light magenta hue when diluted and fluoresces a rich golden yellow color when a 405nm beam is shone through it (see pictures below). It also responds to 532nm lasers with a slightly more yellow shade. Perfect for projects such as a Laser Lava Lamp.

The kit now also contains 1mL of the same type of ultra concentrated dye but in a bright blue color, this one reacts well to 405nm and black lights but not 532nm.

Glow Sheets [new]
(note: these are a separate item from the glow kit)

These sheets available in both Green and Red-Orange are each 21x30 cm size or roughly 8.26x11.8 inch, and have adhesive backings on them so you can peel and stick them onto anything. They're perfect for making your own glow in the dark stars or stickers, or just drawing on with 405nm (or 445/473nm) pointers.

Each sheet will brightly hold an after image for several minutes and the image will be dimly visible in a dark room for about an hour or two. The sheets are usable in a lit room and visible for at least 3-4 minutes before fading.

Thanks :san: I'll be looking to expand the variety a bit, though finding quality materials is a bit tough. If anyone has something they would like to have added that isn't listed here I'm open to suggestions as well.

Well... two thoughts. You may want to offer to crackle the marbles (maybe for a small fee?), and also you don't list their size. Not sure what else you can add though. Fluorescence never quite caught my interest.

Thanks, I've added the size on the OP. I'll look into cracked marbles though even the regular ones can be tough to find, I don't think any companies produce new uranium glass anymore so it's all just surplus stock from various sites :cryyy:

Re: Blu-ray / 405nm UV Fluorescence & Glow Kit

Wow You beet me to my idea. This summer i was going to buy a bunch of the strontium aluminate glow powder from glowtec UK and sell it.

I have green, cyan, blue, violet, orange, red, and white from them and its amazing

Good luck with your sale.

What I'd really like as far as GITD goes is some good paper but it's gotta be persistent enough to write or draw with the laser and look at it for a couple minutes!

The picture in my forum avatar was made using paper coated in the glow powder I'm selling here, just coated the paper in glue stick to get it on there. It glows for a very long time in the dark, and it's even visible for a couple minutes in a well lit room ;)

what about this it glows for 14 hours Glowtec UK - Glow-in-the-Dark A4 Vinyl Sheet.

my glow powder from them I put in a closet and its afterglow was 3 days (well nights :P )

Can you erase it with an IR laser?

Interesting, does the power fall after some time? How hard to get an even coating?

You can't erase it with an IR laser. I haven't had any trouble with it coming off of the sheet I made (about a year ago) however a better way to do it would probably be to mix the powder into a clear acrylic paint base and then spread it onto the sheet for a nice even/permanent coating.

Re: Blu-ray / 405nm UV Fluorescence & Glow Kit

Pity, many GITD stuff can be erased with IR and it's a nice trick..
I might buy your set when I get some cash :)

Re: Blu-ray / 405nm UV Fluorescence & Glow Kit

Ship to the UK?

I believe I can ship to the UK for $8 instead of $4 if the USPS calculator is accurate. You can message me you're interested.

Also I'm happy to announce that the latest addition I'm testing out right now is an amazing liquid fluorescent dye, the suggested dilution rate is 1 drop per gallon of water and it's crazy strong stuff. I'll hopefully be offering it here in the next day or two as an add-on.

Re: Blu-ray / 405nm UV Fluorescence & Glow Kit

You ask people to message you if they are international, but how do they know if they are?

I'm pretty sure you are located in the US, but since you don't have your location information listed in your profile, that's just a guess.

Sorry, but sellers without a location listed is a major pet peave of mine. You may get a lot more interest if you update that.
