I'm looking for a glass tube simply so I can see the plasma effect. The wavelength of the laser discharge does not matter. I'd like one simply to view the plasma effect.

Look for surplus bar code scanner He-Ne tubes... They are small, require a smaller PSU and are usually open tube type. They are amazing to look at! I recommend spending the money and time finding one!

I have one that actually doesn't lase anymore but produces a nice discharge. I can grab some pictures of it tomorrow and send them to you?

Yeah - it produces a nice plasma (beautiful, really) but it just doesn't produce coherent electromagnetic radiation anymore :p

I guess we both use discharge differently. I mean, I would like it to still produce visible laser radiation :p
