An echoed request from the past, but I'm looking for some freak WL 405's. Finally going to be in dorms where I can use a soldering iron soon, so I'm back in business. I'm willing to pay a pretty penny for one of these diodes. Pm me if you've got anything.

I'm an A1C haha, and busy. Plus in these dorms we can't have heating elements, so no soldering irons, which put me out of the game for quite some time. Although I'm driving out to my first duty station on the 17th, and there I'm allowed to have a soldering iron. Best news I've gotten.

why do you want those freak 405s, you can get gud 405s n its always been luck of the draw as dtr doesnt bin them..

Hey, good to have you back.
Good 405nm diodes are hard to find. If you overdriven the diodes, they will die. They are not the same as the more relax 445nm diodes which will dim when push over the max.

Back when phr's were new, there was the occasional freak 407/408 diode. That's what I'm looking for, just for the purpose of visibility, and exclusivity. I expect this journey for a freak diode to be long, and greatly unproductive, but it's something I'd like to have in the collection.

EDIT: I use the word "new" loosely. More so, phr's were the main 405 diode at the time.

I dont see any other person other than rhd being able to measure exact wavelength of the laser diodes! You can have literally anyone on the forum with a freak 405 and no one will ever know because not even one of them had their 405s measured.. I hope there comes a great diode as per your requirements but i think you'll need to do a smarter search than this!!

Did you ask rhd to find you one, maybe he gets a random testing for you..

A while back I did, for a reason I've since forgot, he said no. Something along the lines of it not happening often I think. I don't really remember.
