Hello friends, I usually like the visual effects of lasers, but lately I have become interested in an IR laser. I want from one to several 830nm laser diodes. Hopefully very low cost, and with at least 25 mW but no more than 200 mW capability. If you know of a source and the price is well below $100 please let me know. Thanks! -Glenn

Hey Glenn you can experiment with the 4 pin diode from PHR sleds...

They have a red, but also an IR. See this pin diagram and thread:

Why 830nm, and not 808nm? Is there some sort of application that requires the extra 22nm, or is it just because it's more unique?

830 nm is wanted as, it has deeper penetration into the body, (at least 5 cm), and has been used to aid pain relief and healing in sports injuries and arthritis, many studies have shown it works and is called "Cold laser therapy" I have a research partner who wants to do experiments on new applications. But I can't say any more. :shhh: -GH

Been wondering where the line is for 100% invisible IR is. If you would, see if you or anyone around can see the dot. My guess would be 930nm might be enough to be 100% invisible to all people.
