@anselm

Often with good reason, but as a relative n00b I can tell you to a newcomer it will seem like rampant paranoia is the lpf standard.

Interesting thread, can't wait to see how it turns out, but I also don't get why get people are getting worked up over it this early on?

Does anyone know which product these green diodes will be integrated into?
Does anyone know how much that product will cost?
Does anyone know whether or not there will be an "easily available" source for the diodes?
No.

We know beyond reasonable doubt that green laser diodes will hit markets soon, en masse.

Being cryptic protects the seller from us finding a source that may or may not be right under our collective nose. It's good business, but we've seen it in the past. Remember when the 445's hit eBay? The seller acted the same way.

Let's just be patient. China sources diodes like these from the West. We'll find our source.

I didn't call anyone a scammer, just that I would not put up money many months in advance of any product being available.

I will point out however that since the listing has Paypal as the payment processor, that the listing for a pre-sale item several months before they are available is in violation of PayPal user ageement.
Here's the link
https://www.paypal.com/helpcenter/m...ps=solutionPanels&solutionId=39067&isSrch=Yes

it states:
Does PayPal permit transactions for pre-sale items?

Question :
Answer :

A pre-sale item is advertised for sale before the seller actually has the item. Often, these items are sold before they are available to the general public.

A seller might use the money from the pre-sale of an item to purchase the item.

PayPal permits pre-sales on a limited basis as long as the seller:

* Guarantees shipment within 20 days from the date of purchase.
* Clearly identifies the item as a pre-sale.
* Provides proof, if needed, that they can successfully deliver the product (supplier information, purchase invoices, shipping information, or delivery confirmation).

No doubt about that. I would be surprised if someone was able to keep a source secret for more than a week or two. Especially since we already have a good idea of what products (pic projectors) these will come out in first.

THIS.

Remember those sellers selling 445 diodes for outrageous amounts and then being stuck with them and having to lower all of them when the prices dropped?

On the other hand the price seem to be not far away from the reality. The CNI 447nm GLP pens aren´t much less than this amount.

We just have to wait till they are available. I would just recommend to NOT spent such a high amount for a preorder from a near dark horse.

Once the diodes are available, we can organize a CNI GB. I´m in near daily contact with CNI, so once they have the diodes, it would take less than 4 weeks to get the finish built lasers for a hand of people.

Yeah I would be way more comfortable with a group buy that deals directly with CNI. And isn't it kind of deceiving naming your amazon store "CNI" when it isn't actually CNI?

Not to mention that after 45 days from the Payment date
you can no longer open a Dispute/Claim...

We're not calling him a scammer. It would be different if it was the end of the year, or beginning of 2012, or whenever they come out and he had them in posession and was outright selling them. The pre-order is where things get too risky, even if he's known for being legit.

Is this legit?
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

To me this hints at a scam.

I don't believe a word of it personally

I would like to add that I also don't believe this guy, and would consider it retarded to place an order from him.

This is the ultimate troll thread lol.
his name is "mind ripper" after all. the guy has been a member here since 2008, and hasn't done 1 notable thing. Just a troll.

I'm not quite sure how this isn't very obvious to everyone.

I am aware this is a troll thread. What else could it be at this point

We're not calling him a scammer.

Oh, really?

Can´t believe that you base your opinion that he is NO SCAMMER one positive transaction you had with him??
You believe in people ON THE INTERNET very easily..:can:

Did you read this one for example?
http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/1-watt-500mw-447nm-cni-glp-iii-c-amazon-56041.html#post803394
He also has just feedbacks on AMAZON.

He MIGHT BE legit, he probably is.

I´m just saying, BE CAREFUL, especially with the long pre-order and fully money transfer.

Anyway, I DON`T/WON´T FORCE ANYONE NOT TO ORDER IT RIGHT NOW
