Well I decided to see how this things ticks and have successfully destroyed it. You will need a new driver and possibly a new C-mount not sure as I have yet to test the C-mount with any other driver. This is the crystal assembly. You can see where the C-mount easily screws in and out. The focusing part of the assembly is in the head of the host. This would be an interesting project for someone who is really bored.
Asking $50 shipped.

Uhm what was it putting out and why in gods name did you take it apart and what caused it to die?

Re: 473nm laser parts

Yeah it is boblasers crap. It was 5mW. I opened it up and in the process the driver solder joints came undone. Why did I open it? I was curious to see what was inside and wanted to try and get it a pot mod. I then destroyed the driver trying to solder while drinking. Not a good idea. I had it all soldered back up but it would not even light up the diode. A new driver and diode would get this working for sure.

Re: 473nm laser parts

Any idea what wavelength diode? I definitely may be interested.

Well actually, if possible, wavelength, voltage, overall specs, current, etc.

They use 808nm pump diodes. Voltage is 3. Current depends on a lot of things. I would start low and ramp it up until blue comes out.

Re: 473nm laser parts

Any idea what power diode would be sufficient? I have two, 2W 808nm 9mm diodes, but maybe I can do some modification tweaks or something, or else buy a c-mount from herru. If it only needs like 1W or something, then I would probably buy it.
