40W CO2 Laser Tube and Power Supply

This 40 watt CO2 laser system is pre-wired and ready to go. Simply attach a water cooling source (water from your tap, pumped water from fish tank pump, or similar), clip on the leads (red high voltage to the HR end and ground return to the OC mirror end), plug in the power supply (110VAC) and press and hold the red button on the power supply. Burn things to your hearts content. CO2 systems do a great job on organic materials and even glass and plastic. Keep in mind this is a class IV laser system. Protective eyewear is highly recommended. The laser operates in the far infrared (10600nm) so it will not damage your retinas. It will, however, burn your cornea and lens, skin, clothes, etc.

Price: $275.00 plus shipping. I only use methods that can be tracked. Shipping will be actual cost and will be the lesser of USPS Priority, FedEx Ground, or UPS Ground.

I'm very interested! I have been getting into gas lasers lately and would love to have a 40 watt for a couple reasons (even though I already have a 15 watt from Sig haha). I have a couple questions, though.

Is the red button a momentary on switch for the laser? If so, can that be easily modified?

And where are you shipping it from and can you give a rough estimate of cost?

The red button is momentary. It's a TEST button to verify operation. You can add a similar wiring scheme to what I used on my old power supply to get similar operation. You need the manufacturer info for the psu to see if it needs a pull up or pull down wiring scheme.

Yes, what Sig said. There are control inputs on the power supply for things such as TTL and variable output. I never wired these as the system was used for demonstration.

Sig, might I be able to use your power supply with a transformer for this tube?

Yep but it won't run full power. You'd only get ~30Watts out maximum, even on 240v, according to the documentation from the manufacturer. That psu I had was capable of starting and sustaining up to 75W tubes, but could only run a 30W or lower at full power.
