They are not harassing you, they are offering solid advice. Their debate is also relevant as any buyer for this should be cautious about getting a laser with an unknown output power.
I know you don't care about your reputation, but I hope you do realize that positive reputation is a requirement to have a B/S/T thread. You better be nice to the people offering you good advice.
If you wanted I will be in Poland on from the 6th to the 10th of Nov. If you paid postage I could LPM it with my Ophir for you. If you are interested send me a PM and Ill send you the address. Good luck with the sale. :beer:
Unknown power is not the same as "fake". Lots of "real" lasers with identical components have dramatically different output powers, because of the variation between diodes of the same model.
I can also tell you FIRST HAND that I have seen a 50% +/- variation on this exact model of diode. So the variance is not just a theoretical possibility, it's a realistic one, and it's not a matter of a 100mW difference, it could be much more dramatic.
You could have said "Thanks for the advice, but I'm not going to be able to LPM it, so please factor that into your pricing." People would have left you alone at that.
Instead, you attacked people for the act of giving you advice. That's what earns someone a negative comment in my books.
There's so many issues here there's no point naming more.
However, the main thing is not abiding by the one major piece of advice that I give every new member;
BE OVERLY HUMBLE AND NICE!
That will take you far here regardless of how ignorant you are (as in anyone). Ignorance isn't bad in and of itself. Choosing to stay that way can be.
I certainly wouldn't purchase without a middleman. Zero rep seller, high price, unknown specs. Conversely, the OP may be out an expensive laser if he sells to a less-than-legit buyer.
As for unsolicited advice: just because you start a thread doesn't mean you own its content. The advice is as much for the OP as the readers.
