Re: WIP Selling high powered 445nm Lasers!

life can be from about 20min at 1.5w or less
I am having some fun time check these batterys.
Some seem to have a bit more life than others. so i am going to take the average life time and power readings.
And the lowest one i will put as the run time that way if you get more you should be happy!

Hi,

maybe a stupid question, but are the silver cone tipped ones focusable?

Re: 1.5W 445nm Lasers starting at 190$ Shipped!

I've never put together a laser before so sorry for this but..

"Inside the heatsink assembly will be the laser and driver, all you have to do is drop it in and screw the host together and you have a laser.
Also note inside the host there will be a object blocking the insert path with a label waring you about the use and FDA regulations. This requires you to mod product for function.
However you will need no tools or soldering to do any of this. everything is just remove, drop and go."

This sounds simple enough but I would hate to make one little mistake and screw something up. Or is it impossible even for a noob like myself to screw this up?

Re: 1.5W 445nm Lasers starting at 190$ Shipped!

no screwing anything up. you just drop it in and just like the batteries. just from the other side.
Also. i got something that has delayed some of my orders.
I have a battery issue and am waiting on my supply of 48 new sets.
Order was placed over 2 weeks ago and is due this week
At this moment these batteries only want to give a little over 1w under load. so they are being maxed out. giving me a max power of 1W. but once the new batteries from my other suppler come in this should not be an issue. there might be a pcb protection circuit in the batteries that i will have to remove.
As the driver gives the 1.5w on my lab setup but when the batteries are hooked they get maxed out at 1W.
So if you have ordered one i have them ready but waiting on new batteries. the heat sinks are very large and they work great. i had a 1w laser running for over 5min.

Damn those are nice, I'm so tempted... The silver one looks a little like an RPG in one of those pics. I have enough tail click lasers at the mo but if it were a side clicky I'd ask for one right now. The host is sweeeeet :)

yes all hosts are focusable.
They will have an aixiz focusing ring on them.
Or if you want i can make one just for you to any size you want just give me a sketch and i will make it.
they could be made side clicky but i would not recommend it. it would take space away from the heatsink. but i could convert one.

Yeah some shots of lasers that are assembled with aixis, and some beamshots would be nice:) without fog and at night?:)
And how long is the laser in inches or centimeters?(the black 1.5w host, with aixis)
Also, please make sure there wont be a change that the aixis falls down into the heatsink(happened to me once). Just being careful after purchases made here...;)
1500mw at almost freezing sounds good. That means at normal periods it would be like 1550mw:)

Here is a picture of it next to a ruler.
laserwhole.jpg

My web cam is acting up give me a bit to find the cd.
looking at new power source for the 1.5w. sorry for the price increase it will go down once the testing and everything has been confirmed. if you have a pending payment awaiting approval (bank transfer) or have paid or this will not affect you and i am going to eat the cost.
I am sorry but due to this change in power source i have to add to the price they might be using a similar battery to the cr123a but it is slightly larger and is 1200mah compared the the 900mah the ones are now.

Doesnt matter the photo says enough thanks:)
Although im wondering:
First you said estimated battery life was 30-45 minutes...and now it is 15-25 with newer more expensive batteries?:S
Although 15 minutes straight is still pretty good.
Cant wait to get mine, looks like a awesome laser.

Yes the run times got lowered as my batteries quality's are being put to the test some last longer than others.
i only have 10 sets atm.
i have a set of 48 coming in this week that i hope to be better but we will see.
I also am changing the battery's in the 1.5W lasers from 2 cr123a to 2 18350 more power and only a bit larger but still fits in the host.
As it is some of the cr123a say they are 900mah but only seem to be giving roughly 300mah, very big letdown.
And now getting refund for them.
As i stated i want to give the min run time.
that way your set should be above but if the set you get is not a good set but only an okay set there wont be any surprise.
with the new battery's i am hoping for a run time of 25min but i wont know till i get them in.
but the 18350 look very promising.

from what i have read they are much better than the cr123a they are close if not on spec as well as a bit bigger. they should fit great in these hosts. this will also increase the run time of the silver ones to but it will be an option.
