I noticed the curved clip too. My viper has a straight clip and no warning label (though that may have been accidentally omitted).

To be fair though, the viper as now shown on Dragon's website also has a curved clip and looks exactly like the old WL Nexus which looks exactly like Rickemshoff's laser.

The give-away is the box. My viper came in a plain white thin cardboard box with a white foam cut-out and a CNI-style label with a GLP serial number. The box for Rickemshoff's laser is identical (except for colour) to the Nexus box.

So it looks as though the laser was originally bought from WL, rather than Dragon, but it is probably a CNI product and may well be identical inside to a viper.

I don't understand the reference to 160 mw. The label clearly shows this to be a 125mw unit. Of course it may well be putting out 160mw, or even more. My 125 puts out ~ 175mw, but that's a different point.

Rickemshoff, where are you located? I'd be happy to power-test it for you (I am in the UK).

Thanks for pointing that out Higrade1, the laser in that picture is a 125mw. I guess I might as well admit that I have 2 vipers. I have a V125 and a V160. I was unaware that the output was actually listed on the laser, imagine that. They look so much alike that I get them switched from time to time. Now I know how to tell them apart (besides just turning them both on).

I have included pictures of both. I didn't want to mention that I had a V125 but I guess I have no choice now. I have a video I took of the V160 cutting a piece of black tape in 30 seconds and as soon as I can get it under 16MB I will post it.

I have been asked why I want to sell it and after careful consideration I'm now totally unsure I want to sell it. Maybe I should keep the V160 and sell the V125. If I hadn't gotten so much feedback from this I probably wouldn't be having this issue.

Anyway, I must sell one of the two and I guess I'll just leave to whoever wants one of them to decide which one I keep.

Thanks,
Rick

Post a pic of the pen clip of the 160mW one.

I still say its a WL fusion, Wicked sent labels all over the place. I've seen fusions with 140mW stickers and fusions with 125mW stickers, a 160mW sticker is not impossible.

I don't really know why I bought it in the first place. Its not something I need at the moment. These days I could use the money for something else.

So let me get this straight, it was an impulse buy and you never really needed it, and now all of a sudden you have two?

You're story just isn't adding up mate. We've expressed what you should do to confirm it's power; send it to a reputable member to be tested. Nothing else will suffice.

A custom label is a small price to pay for turning a couple hundred dollar profit on a laser.

I thought I may have had it in the wrong box especially after watching a couple of videos.
Well, right box or not, I know where I got and I know what I paid for it. I will be posting more pics and some video as well. Oh, the reason I'm selling it...

Like Pontiac said, get this verified because I smell scammer. Who would ever say they don't remember why they bought it?

#1 How much are you asking for it?

#2 Do you have a sales receipt from DL?

#3 Where do you live so we can suggest a forum member to verify the power output?

I live in Central California. I don't mind sending it to someone to test it.
I've decided to keep the 160, so I guess having that tested is a mute point.
You are quite right I know I wouldn't purchase one (especially now) without some kind of guarantee as to what I was actually paying for.

I just fell back in love with the 160 while I was shooting the videos that I'll be posting sometime in the near future.
I may have the receipt somewhere. I think I paid over $250 for the 125, maybe closer to $300.
I would like to get $200 for it but you guys know more than I do about what they are worth.

Could someone tell me if you have a reputable member in the area with a laser power meter who wouldn't mind checking it out for me.

I'm not trying to scam anyone. I wouldn't waste my time trying.

Thanks,
Rick
