Is this laser supposed to output a single dot? The one I received outputs a bar shape regardless of focus. Not sure if that is normal or not.:thinking:

Multi-mode diodes (used in higher powered lasers modules) typically do not produce a very round dot. Lower power single-mode lasers have a much more round/oval dot.

Some pictures might be helpful to determine if what your laser is doing is normal, or if something is wrong.

Yeah these will ALL emit a bar shape. At long distance it is much more noticeable. Up close you can't really tell. That is the nature of multi-mode diodes. These aren't so bad when compared to the 638nm diodes we have been using lately. Those are horrendous.

I am not surprised. He is still waiting for supplies to come in so he can ship my order. I am not worried about it though. Anything good is worth waiting for.

I guess we are ordering them faster than they can restock them. LOL

Do you have tracking on those? I did try to find a source for them at a comparable price to what you offered, but I am not having any luck. So I will wait.

It's funny, I keep finding myself returning to this thread to see if Yobresal has started taking orders again. His build really makes a statement, and looks beautiful. Would it be wrong to say that this laser has really caught my eye? :D
