They are about 5 inches. I got your laser completed tonight and packaged up. Shipping label is printed and it is headed out tomorrow. Thanks bud, Be safe and enjoy your laser when it arrives.

Yea, I just got the email from PayPal :san:

5 inches should be perfect for the holster I was looking at. The laser goggles I ordered from Amazon will probably arrive a few days after the laser so it'll be awhile before I can LPM it. I'll definitely be getting some nighttime beamshots ASAP though.

Awesome, Yeah getting the beamshots and using the laser for burning are the best part about the laser. Testing out the power is more of a chore than anything else. If the anticipation is going to be tempting for you I will save you the trouble. It tested out at 1,475mW. The batteries are fresh out of the wrapper so you will need to charge them as soon as the laser arrives.

Thanks for testing it out for me. That'll save me the $5 it costs to use my schools laser lab.

Also, "batteries"? Is it 2x16340?

Yes, All of them run on 2 16340 IMR rechargeables. You can put in an 18650 but it will be 1/4 power.

That's perfect actually. It's good to have a "safe mode" for use around other people. Should keep my 18650's from collecting dust too. Both lasers I had that used them quit working.

Will you be caught up enough by the 15th? I would like the strong one please. Is copper or aluminum better for heatsync?

Wicked cool man. I'm definitely buying the premium package. Is there any way you can like pre make it so it's ready to ship as soon as I pay you? I realize this may be a lot coming from a new member but I'll be frequenting this forum a lot now, I just found it. Like I said the moment I deposit my check (Monday around 12) I'll be sending the money over to you.

As far as shipping, is there any way to expedite it so I would get it within a couple days? I'll pay whatever the difference is plus another five dollars for yourself for the hard work! :) I'm antsy my inner pyro can't handle the wait.

I can't say that I agree. I had the same exact feelings myself. When you have to wait for your paycheck to be able to buy the super laser you have been wanting you pretty much want it as fast as possible and are willing to pay extra to make that happen. Not to mention the immature kids, or scammers for that matter, who I would be worried about having one of these lasers usually have horrible grammar, spelling, and punctuation while chief doesn't seem to be at all like the norm for those situations.

Thanks for sticking up for me! Just cuz I'm new it doesn't mean I'm a scammer or new to lasers haha. I offered him the extra money for himself for the hassle of having it expedited versus normal shipping. And it's a fat paycheck this month so I'll pay for the convenience. Having to wait till pay day is long enough for me!

I don't think he was bashing Chiefpackabowl's desire to get his laser fast, if anything that is something we can all empathize with. But the implications of the above quote are typically less than desirable.

For example when I first joined LPF, I made my username Wannaburnstuff as I had newly discovered the advancements in Laser technology and was looking forward to obtaining a powerful laser that could be used for thermal experiments. I got some flak for it at first due to the negative connotations.

However, if you practice safe lasing I think you can establish a good reputation. It is just important to realize that a purely "pyro-technical" appreciation of lasers can lead to an immature connotation.

You hit it on the head for the most part. It wasn't just this, but a few other appearances around. Totally not trying to bash anyone.. but I can't help to be a little nervous when it comes to blindly sending out uber dangerous instruments akin to a loaded weapon to anyone that creates an account and asks for one. You never know who is on the receiving end these days.. all you have to go by are little white characters on a screen..
