One question: is there a safety lock on it? A removable key or pin? I'm guessing not, but I might as well ask :).

EDIT: To be clear, I don't feel safe buying something of this power without a safety lock of some sort. Anyways, it's very tempting, but I'm not sure yet if I can afford it.

The safety aspects of the assembled laser would be the lens cap, only installing the batteries when you are ready to use it and storing the batteries and laser in separate locations.

I see, thanks.

Alright, so I have a few questions...

1. What are some good, cheap safety goggles (under $40 shipped, the cheaper the better), that I can get shipped to the USA in a timely manner? Preferably as cheap as possible so I can buy multiple pairs (if it's too high, then I'll just buy one pair to start, and keep the laser FAR away from anyone).

2. How much is that tripod you are selling?

3. Do you have a Paypal merchant account (can accept debit cards), or do I need to use member-to-member payments?

Anyways, I'm on the edge... On one hand, it's a solid build, and way higher quality than anything from china. On the other hand, it's a little dangerous and expensive...

Yeah, I'm going to buy it. Please answer my questions first though :).

1. Our standard Eagle Pair 190-540nm are $40.80 shipped with the LPF discount, 2 pair would be $78.60 shipped. You really don't want to go "cheap" with goggles, the Eagle Pair have a good price/performance ratio.

2. The tripod is $8.96 with the discount.

3. Yes we have a merchant account.

Hope that helps. :)

I see, thanks.

Just wanted to mention that I got the laser, and it's 5/5 stars easily, GREAT design, sturdy, etc.

I'll most likely write a review later, but I'm taking it easy, safety being #1 so I'm keeping that in mind .

Anyways, Garoq/Survival Lasers is great, I love the customer service, and the laser is very well made, altogether I am VERY satisfied with my purchase and new laser! Highly recommended!

I bought a pair of the Eagle Pair 190-540nm & 900-1700nm. Very comfortable and nice quality. Comes with a case and small lens cleaner. Ordering was very easy and shipping was fast. Thumbs up to Survival.

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me :bday:
Next week is my birthday. I need a new laser.

Thanks for your PM.

My PP payment has been made.

I added some of the Céramique 2 Thermal Compound 2.7 grams
and a couple others accesories. I hope this is OK.

I want to try both the "standard" and "extended blue" focus rings.

Thanks again for your fast response to my questions.

Question. Is it reccomended to use the heat sink thermal compound I added to my order? I did not upgrade to the copper heat sink.:(

If so, I gues a small even layer bettween diode heat sink and case heat sink.

^^^The thermal compound will always help regardless of what the heat sink is made of.

Correct, just a thin layer applied to the module before installing in the heat sink. It is pretty thick, and may require a bit of effort to coax the parts to move into place after it is applied. You might want to push the heatsink down so that the module protrudes from it, then apply the compound and push the module down flush with the end, then tighten the set screw. You'll understand when you receive the parts. Make sure you wipe off any excess compound and don't let any of it get into the module threaded area where the lens goes.

My packages arrived today. Both of them, the $190 LPF deal, and my accessories from the website order (with 10% LPF discount):D

This is not a review, just a comment on fast shipping, only 2 days.
All arrived safely and in working order. Very well packed and complete.

I know what you mean about the thermal compond:
You said "You might want to push the heatsink down so that the module protrudes from it, then apply the compound and push the module down flush with the end, then tighten the set screw."

I pushed the diode all the way thru, protruding out the end. applied compound, the smoothed it even around diode heat sink, then pushed it back into the bigger heat sink and tighten screw.

Note about lens installation::eek:
On my first beam test, my bean would not focus well. I then discovered I put the lens on backwards. My 47 year old eyes did not see the flat side or slotted side on first inspection, but now I understand.:thanks:

Note on safety glasess.:tinfoil:
My accessory order included these, as the LPF bundle does not have them. Most of LPF members probably already have them.
DO NOT use this laser without safety glasses, unless you are outside and want to see the beam. The light reflected of fthe walls is like looking at the sun.
If you see yellow "after images" when using this laser, put your glasses on.

Great customer service!!!

Thanks for a great purchase.

^^

Just mentioning that I'm loving my laser and extended focusing ring :).

Any plans for a 532nm laser kit in the future?
