Ah nevermind I cleaned it completely.

You know the lens side where it faces the laser diode when screwed in? That little circular plate thingy is unscrewable.

When you unscrew it three pieces comes out, small lens a little small circular thing, and a little thicker lens.

I cleaned both lens and re-assembled now it's better than how it looked brand new!

Well then awesome! I normally would not recommend that anyone disassemble the lens unless they were extremely careful.

Ah yes I was extremely careful, however it was really easy to disassemble. Apparently the smoke can go within the two lenses which fogs up from the inside. Which makes cleaning without disassembling difficult..

You must have been doing some up-close burning... :eg:

Ah yes, my friend has also been using it and really made the lens dirty (The power output reduced by at least 50%!) so after cleaning I'm burning again in seconds :)

I cleaned the lens again this time a bit more thorough and it's completely clean (last time there was a couple tiny smudges). Anyways I decided to light some candles:

Received my laser two and a half days after I ordered it. I took memorial day out :)

MY GOD!!!!!!! I've been lighting matches, burning CD cases, paper, CD inserts.

This is so shockingly powerful for a laser that was so much fun and easy to put together.

Survival laser is such an amazing product with an even more amazing customer service.

Gary, you're awesome!!!! And thanks a bunch!!!

I just got this small but super powerful laser in the mail today. It was not very difficult to put together, but I still felt very gratified after assembly. It is the most powerful handheld I've ever seen. I did notice that it gets pretty warm relatively quickly. But for the price, this thing was definitely a great deal. I am very impressed with how fast it arrived and people will be blown away both here in the real world as well as out at the burning man festival when I show it off. Everything ordered was correct and thank you for this laser.

i was on the verge of buying the Artic Spyder 3. But after I saw how long it was compared to this laser, I was blown away! 1.3W in this small laser?!? Wow! Great little product! I will definetly buy this survival laser instead of artic. However, I wish this laser did have different lenses like the artic does. Nonetheless, awesome! I will be waiting for the SLII! Btw, anything on that laser yet?

Yes I do hope I can get my hands on the SLII before July 4th... Got some big explosives to light and want to be able to stand a few meters away when lighting.

The production SL II heat sinks arrived a couple days ago and the extended focus rings should be here early next week. Then I just need to take a few photos and finish the instructions.

The SL II is anticipated to have limited availability because only a percentage of the diodes tested are efficient enough to produce the desired power level. If you are interested in the SL II, please email us at the address shown near the bottom the Survival Laser "About" page and we will put you on a list to notify as soon as we offer them for sale.
