Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Yesterday I placed my order and made payment for my very own Yobresal Sky Splitter.
I am psyched up beyond belief! Absolutely cannot wait.

I live in seattle and attend a lot of large outdoor music festivals and gatherings.
How much fun will it be to bust this badboy out at the just the right moment for a split second and freak the f#ck outta a few thousand tripped out people all at once?!! (in a safe/non blinding way of course)

It would sure be nice if there was a way to set these up with an instant on/off switch instead of the click on/off that most powerful lasers come with.
I do understand the safety reasons for having a rigid, click switch on it so that it doesn't go off randomly in your pocket but an instant button would still be nice for some situations.

By the way... you guys sure have built up an amazing laser community here. I've learned tons from you in the last couple weeks. Quite an abundance of knowledge for sure.
thank you all

festival, amen to that...
when i beam my green 200mW. up into the sky/horizon at night, a bunch of dogs will bark, near and far ... it's weird, it's like they see it right away ...
be careful with aircraft / people / cops and your beam !

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

Well I had my personal 3-Mode version of this laser sitting on my workbench yesterday. I was testing the lasers to send out and setting them aside. I think I may have accidently got my personal mixed in with the population. Someone may be getting a 3-mode version. An exchange may need to be made unless whoever receives it wants to keep it. It was not tested before being sent out. I apologize in advance to whoever receives this.

I hear ya for sure.

I'm over 40 and I don't drink and understand how dangerous these are, so I've got that going for me, which should help keep everything ok on the aircraft and people part.

It's more the cops/event staff that I'm concerned about.
I've had a few attempts of jacking me for my minidv cam at shows over the years by event staff and I'd hate to have deal with that with my laser.

That why I think I may need a mod to have quick access to short bursts.

again.. don't worry, I'm not going to be that asshole that messes up shows by pointing a laser at or even near the stage.
I'm talking about before/after concert.... maybe once between bands/songs into the air.

Nobody should ever disrupt a performance with a laser at anytime, in any way, ever! (unless of course we are talking about courtney love but thats a different story) :eg:

hehe...yeah right. I think you knew know what I meant.

If the person operating the laser is on the payroll then hell yes!
If the person operating the laser is not on payroll and just thinks it's a good idea to disrupt the show......asshole!

Yobresal is doing a lot of work to get these out to us. I'd like to make a plea to whoever gets his personal laser to send it back to him. Please don't bite the hand that feeds you. :tsk:

Well I can easily build another for myself that is 3-mode. I just have not tested that one so I do not feel confident in selling it. If the peron who receives it is happy with it by all means keep it. Also if anyone else wants a 3-more I can build them.

Amen to that!

Could someone explain to us noobs what exactly a "3 mode" is?
I've read about lasers mode jumping but don't really understand.

I'm assuming it's uses the stock flashlight driver to give the laser a HI,LOW, & STROBE settings by turn the laser on and off in rapid succession to change the settings.

the "mode hopping" your thinking of is something entirely different which is found in DPSS lasers, such as 532nm lasers.
(this is me trying to sound intelligent)

Right on... thanks for clearing that up.

Sounds like having a simple low setting might be a handy feature with this laser. Could be used for "training mode"?

Strobe might be kinda fun too.

3-mode drivers do normally not have strobe, it is the 5-mode ones.
It goes Low, Medium, High, + Strobe(10Hz), and SOS.
