Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

jakeGT --- how is the beam visibility at night when beamed up into the sky/horizon ??!!
this is what i'm more curious about rather than burning stuff ...

thanks ... the beam shots make them look quite intense/bright but this is because the camera does a long exposure to grab more of the light ...

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

[/QUOI got my laser today yobresal and I love it! Thanks a bunch this thing is wonderful. Very bright and an awesome laser all around. I could nor be happier with the support from yob, the time it took to get to my front door. And the quality of this laser and the whole buying experience of it!!! What is the idea with the thread tape to make the focus nob more steady? Can anyone elaborate on this for me to help me out and is it a good
Idea?

A little Teflon tape is a good idea for the laser. Make sure you don't get any at the ends of the lens. About 1.5 wrap at the center of the threads of the lens should be good. Have fun and enjoy your laser!

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

The beam visibility at night is amazing. I took a few pics with my iPhone which im trying to post as we speak.. Hopefully i will have them up in the next few minutes. The iPhone or any other camera i have just does not do it justice in pictures. You must see it in person to get the full effect. But I took a cd case that had 2 discs in it and took the discs out, so it has the 2 sides of the cd case, and the little black piece in the middle that holds both cds. I turned te laser on, focused it and aimed it at the cd case... 5 or 6 seconds later the laser was showing through the other side. IM not big on burning either but this thing burns quick, and when it punched through the cd case I could see my dresser 10 feet away start smoking so i shut it off .... ;)
But once again i love beams and acting like its my lightsaber and this laser is AMAZING FOR THAT PURPOSE!!!!

the intense beams you see in the pictures are exactly what the lasers look like in fog. I'd have to grab the picture off the camera, but i took one that looks the same on the camera as it did in person. It was at night in deep fog.

Re: 1-1.2 watt 445nm lasers CHEAP $180

very cool ! i'm bout 5 minutes away from pulling the trigger on one of these from Yob.
i love 532nm/Green because of it's inherent high-visibility but i've got a 200mW. Rayfoss that could stand to be much brighter and more intense....
I think what i'm getting at is that I intend on investing in scanners and software for doing real-deal light-shows, eventually but i'm in the experimental/ R&D stage, for now with 445nm....

Hey everybody, I have a 900+mW and a 250mW to sell for cheap. The 250mW one is worrisome because it is highly inefficient. The 900mW one is fine just didn't make the cut to sell as a full powered one. I will take $180 for both shipped

They are both 445nm. Also I have added the option for copper heatsinks instead of aluminum for those who prefer a longer duty cycle.

@Heirophant
I took this picture off my back porch. It was at night and foggy out.
The truck belongs to my 80 year old neighbor.....i'm still trying to talk him into letting me remove it for him lol.

anyways, This laser is probably about 200-300mW LESS than the one Yobresal sells.

I had a 300mw Hercules that ran at 425 and settled to 325mw after about 3 minutes and my 1.2W Yobresal looks just as dynamic but a whole different experience in that the blue is the purest blue you could ever hope to see. Color from heaven???

At a distance of 5miles, I"m guessing the green may still be more visible but up close I think the blue is on par.

The extra wattage of the blue makes up for its less visibility for the color blue to the human eye.

yeah they say 532 is visible from much further away but ya, the extra power helps the 445 ... thanks for that information ...
