I've created a new laser bundle exclusively for LPF members at a price of $190 SHIPPED in the US.

It includes the following:

Survival Laser host assembly that includes the laser body (retaining ring, heat sink holder, battery holder with the laser-etched Survival Laser logo, tail cap switch and wrist strap), blue anodized aluminum heat sink with set screw, 0.050" Allen wrench, 445nm AR coated glass lens, lens focusing ring, external lens spring, lens cap and laser warning label.
1-1.3W diode and driver module
Two Juice brand RCR123A batteries
RCR123A battery charger
Complete assembly, operation and safety instructions
USPS Priority or First Class Mail Shipping to US address

Please note that this offer does not include laser safety goggles. If you do not already have appropriate safety goggles you will need to order them separately.

Read a compilation of customer reviews on this laser here.

This is a 1-1.3 watt (1,150mW +/- 150mW), focusable 445nm laser in the Aurora C6-style host that uses all variants of the rechargeable or disposable CR123A batteries currently available. It can also use 2 x 18650 batteries with a battery tube extension accessory that is now available.

This laser can be assembled in 5-10 minutes with no soldering or special mechanical skills required. The only tool necessary is an Allen wrench which is supplied with the package. A complete LPF build and performance review of the laser bundle can be read here.

One of the great things about this build is that you get the satisfaction of constructing your own laser without risking a bad soldering job or worse. I test every diode and driver module for function and performance with a Laserbee II laser power meter, and they are certified to meet or exceed the stated output power level with the standard lens. Output with a G-1 lens will be at least 10-15% higher. I also offer a 30 day guarantee on the package.

The heatsink is blue anodized aluminum, and a copper upgrade is available for an additional $10 when ordered with the parts bundle. A 445nm AR coated focusable glass lens, external lens spring and lenscap is included.

The beam is fantastic and can be seen in a fully lit room. Outside at night it is especially impressive and as one customer says it is a "tear-through-the-night-sky beam". Burning characteristics are exactly what you would expect from a laser of this power and with focusing capability. Another nice feature of this design is its light weight and compact profile. It fits in the optional holster accessory like a glove and can be carried with you anywhere.

Accessories currently available include extra batteries and charger, two different laser safety goggles, a holster, a tripod and a battery extension tube that allows the use of two 18650 Li-ion batteries.

If i were to put an 18650 battery in this setup would it still work? Just output less power?

Yes, the power is reduced to about 150-200mW.

We are offering a battery extension tube as an accessory that allows the use of two 18650 batteries at full power. It will work with the Survival Laser and all the Yobresal builds out there as well. :D

These seem good. I ordered one on Thursday afternoon, and it arrived Saturday.

I don't have a meter to measure the power, but I was using the brown interior of the cardboard box it shipped in as a non-reflective, non-valuable target a few feet away, to play around with the focusing. I unintentionally set the box on fire in a few seconds whilst experimenting with the focusing.
