Well, to be fair, buying things in bulk really helps reduce the price of these. I make about $10 profit on each of these, which I think is alright, considering that I also end up using some of my solder and lots of thermal adhesive XD

True, but most average builders probably don't wanna have to buy their own $900 projectors and stuff in bulk to make a few lasers, at least I didn't until I opened the store.
Gotta make some profit, b/c no one's perfect and one boo-boo and that diode or driver is toast.

I actually don't buy projectors :p Don't have the startup capital to start that yet.

Haha yeah you know the worst part - is all the projector carcasses that start piling up.

Lol, and I made the mistake of buying optics from one. I got them and thought, these look so neat!

Then i thought, what do I do with them?

Now they are in my closet.

I have a box full of those fans too. Right beside the optics.

Attic, here I come!

I do notice that DTR sells some of the smarter stuff like the remote control on eBay. I'm sure there are some other sellable parts. Lens cover?

Alright guys - I have one made up. This one will cost $120 + shipping because it is particularly efficient, outputting over 1100mW with the Aixiz lens. I figure that's fair. First come first serve! Hope it's gone tomorrow morning, because it's ready to ship out!

I would grab you one, but it's already all packed up in a box, etc. I would unpack it, but that would mean breaking the box and it's the last one I have -.-

Should have LPMed it before, but I can assure you, it does 1100mW. Others can vouch for my honesty if need be (see my reputation, post count, etc. - I am a known seller here).

I certainly wasn't questioning your honesty!!! I've just bought an LPM and am interested in the graphs and toying between buying another or building one for myself. I'd like a collection of identical pen style hosts in different colors so I was thinking of using yours as a sample and copying the build but with as many different wavelengths as I could find.

Sorry for the confusion then!

Regarding making a collection of identical pen style hosts - I can definitely help with that! It's hard to explain the actual process of assembly without seeing it for yourself (why you should buy this one - /shameless plug), but if you have any other questions regarding what driver you should use, what batteries you should use, etc. for each different type of diode, I would love to help. I actually used to have a collection of identical pens like these.

This is odd: back when I had the original three of these, lots of people wanted these: they were selling like hotcakes. However, I have since had one ready to sell for about three days now and no biters, and this one is even stronger!

Update the OP, with the LPM readings for that one specifically? Keep in mind taxes left a lot of people temporarily in the poor house. (Freaking uncle Sam took a 5th of income...:mad: I need better uncles:p)

I would LPM it but it was already all packaged up and ready to go to someone before I realized I didn't want to ship to Canada (new laws and all that).

I suppose I probably should unwrap it -.- .

Haha I sold a pen laser 445nm to a "buddy" and that was over a month ago and still waiting on the money! :banghead:
