I'm here again, I'm not so sure if i have everything to the rite point how it should be since my MM wont tell me exactly how much current is going thru but i put the arrow to 5A an it tells me 0.10 I'm gonna assume is 100 an something (mA) an since i haven't bought another CR123A to come up with 9V I'm using the regular rectangular 9V.

OK enough of that, I try to light up a match but it wont do it. or could i put the current a little bit more with out killing the diode.

well thank you so much.

:thanks:

Well i don't know if any body is going to check this thread again but if you guys that post something here thank you for all your help an comments but the video of ""styropyro"" help a lot. an i got it to burn, an it burns real quick.

Thanks again styropyro.....
oh an sorry Morgan for all the threads

9V batteries are different than other batteries, then have a slower current than others, use the recommended batteries.

It all depends on what will fit inside your host (assuming it is a hand held build)
the plastic optic should be able to burn non the less.

The search btton is your friend :)

Can't do a lot more to help without the photos...

We don't know what driver you have either, how you've set it up or anything. I suspect it's a linear driver due to the voltage you mention but these details are necessary. How have you tested the current? More than 100mA is too much for a PHR for a long life and it should be able to burn at 90mA or perhaps even less.

Hey diode,

Please have a look at the reply to one of your other threads regarding this build for some advice on etiquette.

http://laserpointerforums.com/f67/can-some-one-help-multimeter-55084.html

We sometimes don't know this stuff until we're told, so now that you know, you can rectify things for the future.

Back on topic, you still haven't told us how you are measuring current to your diode, or is that in another thread?

M
:)
