Where have the low power diodes gone?

Hi, ya'll. The purpose of this is to establish as of 2015 where can you reliably get 150-250mw 405nm diodes for under $20. I had some trouble with Techhood last year selling me what they thought were the phr-805t diodes from around 2010ish but were more accurately 20mw diodes. I also see everywhere that you can buy 150mw Sony SLD3234VF diodes and 20mw Sony SLD3234VF diodes, so I'm not feeling too sure about Sony SLDs or PHRs.
Another issue is that my business is inching its way up and just about to have enough funding for a metal working machine, so any mistakes right now could break me and hold off production for a month longer
I just need a $15 150-250mw diode with a name from a place with a name is all

Regarding 405nm 150mW Blu-ray burning UV laser diode 3 pack! anomyltech on ebay says,

" I appreciate you asking. I too have come across a few laser sellers that did not test their products. Fortunately, I have power tested these diodes several times on a laser power meter and am confident to say that they are actually capable of over 150mW. When coupled with a G2 lens at a current of 185 milliamps (dangerously high for this diode, but nonetheless a proof of concept), the output power was over 200mW. When tested with the standard acrylic lens, a maximum output of 173mW was recorded. I test every diode prior to shipment to ensure lasing, and then immediately place it in an anti-static bag (all the while electrically grounded myself). I do this everyday, and have a very high feedback rating because of my quality control. In fact, I have had over 50 diodes not pass my test, and they were never sent out. I can almost promise that you will be satisfied with the quality and output of the diodes you get from me. I hate getting shorted, and I want to make sure no one else does too."

So I pretty much almost fully trust anything he's selling. Just ordered one, so I'll see how it goes

Those look like more of the SLDs. I wonder
if he can get those in quantity for that
price. It seemed like you were looking for
a volume supplier, so I wasn't sure if he
could get more than the few he had left.
With eBay cellers, you never know. :p

Wow, interesting, another new diode
It looks like the BDR-209 has a little sibling.
The "optical equipment" is almost certainly a
Blu-Ray burner drive.

Well im sure my notes are not wrong! I had initialy about 90mw at first! I wanted to recheck, so I tried a few lens'..three element and a g2 lens. Its now at 18mw ish three element and 23mw with the g2. I also tried various batteries! So the diode put out a lot of mW for a few runs! Ha!

:/ that's awful. I can't sell that to my customers. Always with the slow deaths. I feel like I wasted 7.50 again. I guess I can put it in a pen host for my own personal amusement though. When it breaks, I'll just throw it off a bridge or something

And thank you for that double check

At least its a cheaper diode! There fun for obscure builds. I do a lot of those hehe!
