IMHO you need 400mW+ of 405nm for it to be clearly visible.

Np. Night. Daytime you'd need A LOT more power.
I've only been into this hobby for a couple of months, resulting in the purchase of 4 lasers (2x Class 3A, 2x Class 3B, and other laser-related things), and it is burning a hole in my wallet too.
