i've just recieved my phr-803t sled from stonetek, i did not recieved the driver yet, but i want to try out the diode.
i have a nice adjustable power supply with 0-3A and 0-30V, i want to power the diode with 100mA, but at what voltage?

what is the dropout voltage (it is dropout right? like with other diodes?) of a diode from a phr-803t sled?

Do not power your diode directly from your power supply...

You will need a driver to regulate the current. You can use a rkcstr driver at 8 volts supply. Or a FlexDrive at 5 volts supply.

Each of the sellers have documentation on setting current:
rkcstr: http://rkcstr.nfshost.com/
FlexDrive: http://hacylon.case.edu/ebay/laser_diode/Micro_FlexDrive.php

as i said, i use a adjustable power supply, i can set the maximum current and voltage.

but now, i have another problem, i've put my diode nicely in the aixiz module (with lens etc.) but i can't focus it to a dot, if i place the lens as closely as possible to the diode, it's still is a wide dot.

Your diode is NOT pressed all the way into he AixiZ module.  The diode must actually be pressed in until it is slightly recessed into the module.  If it is only "flush" with the back of the module, it is not in all the way.

You may be able to focus it by removing the silver "focus ring" from the front of your lens.  it may be keeping you from screwing the lens in far enough.

did you just went playing with paint?
A little levity to brighten the day ;)
I will attach a picture to help you with getting the LD right into the housing, as you have not yet soldered the driver on you can still do it, it will help with heat transfer if it is right the way in.
