If you're talking about the HD-DVD addons for the xbox360, then you will get one of two sled assemblies. The best being the PHR-803T, which houses a diode capable of upwards of 150mW. The other being the DT0811, which will probably do in the neighborhood of 80-100mW. Both are 405nm (violet colored) diodes, both are 5.6mm.

EDIT: I just did some research. The sled you are talking about will only have a low power red and a low power infrared diode inside. Basically no good, unless you want to make a low powered pointer. But you could always buy one of those for $.99
