Not generally one to toot my own horn as it were, but since I plan on selling this laser in the near future, I figured i'd let people oogle it. :D

This is one of the prototype copper heatsinks I made when trying to figure out just what I wanted to go with.

The host is a Tank007 HC-128 18650 flashlight.

Here it is loaded out with the 12x, and a microboost set at 550mA and 405-g-1 lens. I had sharpied the knurling on the focus ring I made since I wasn't happy with the finish after knurling it, and I wanted to see how it looked contrasting the copper. That's what prototypes are for after all, experimenting! heh.

Here it is after I sanded the knurling down a little. I think I like this look best.. although before I sell it, i'll dissolve the sharpie off of it, the paint the knurling an olive green the same color as the host, then sand the high spots again. I think that will give the best look.

And lastly, what most people probably want to see. :p Doing 785mW, and the beam shot was taking with no smoke, just a long exposure.

very nice clean look. 405nm is one of my favorite colors.

Same here. Though I had to play with a lot of settings on my camera to get the beamshot to even vaguely show up violet.. Otherwise it looks even more blue to the camera than 445. heh.

Nice build, I like both prototypes.

Thanks.. The final version.. at least the one i've sold thus far, is finned and a bit longer.. since the buyer indicated an interest in having a matching set in the future, so I made his long enough to be able to accommodate a green module in one that would look identical. He also requested a brass focus ring too, instead of aluminum.

Love the one on the right. I'd want to lacquer it to keep it from tarnishing. +1 for a sweet build.

Just FYI.. all the images here.. and that I have posted elsewhere on the site as well that are hosted from my house, won't work for a few hours tomorrow. That server is getting replaced..

Well, technically it already has been replaced.. However the new one is just parts sitting on a cardboard box in the floor. :D they'll get put in the rackmount case the old machine is in in the morning. I don't feel like tackling that tonight.

Great build Fox.. are you really in Jackson, TN? If so, you're only an hour or so away from me.
