Anyone that have bought one of these i have a few questions, how well does it burn, how clear is the beam at night/day, If shined on a wall is it rectangle or hardly noticeable, and lastly is the beam rectangle and how noticeable is it? All I've heard is good review for sci fi Lasers and hope this laser is as good as everyone says it is. Also how far can 1w lasers pop balloons from?

disregard my first comment. but you have this in the wrong section. lol

What kind of safety glasses do you have for such a high powered laser? And lastly do you have any experience with lasers or in the hobby?
Lastly you should add some more info to your profile if you want people to help you. Questions like these about burning just make's you look like someone that doesn't care about safety and only wants to burn things and cut the moon in half and set the air on fire lol SAFTEY FIRST

One more thing. This build uses a multimode diode which has bad diverg. that being said its a rectangle beam and "dot"
Before you ask what a multimode diode is do some research on the forums using the search button.. IT does help bud.. cheers and good luck

Yes i have some experience with lasers and i have laser safey goggles, not the best but work and block out most of the light. I am very safe with lasers and know all the safey rules. I am also not just buying this laser for burning but the bright blue beam that this laser will produce. I was just wondering if the rectangle dot is very noticeable and if the beam actually looks rectangle. And sorry for replying so late :p

The beam itself doesn't look rectangular. In fact it's really quite hard to tell what shape the cross section of the beam looks like from the side, though it will be fairly thick.
The dot, however, will be very noticeably slot shaped.

If you're really keen on beam shots a green laser would be better, I guess. A 532nm will produce a very noticeable beam at lower power levels, and it will also be needle thin and round, which imo is very pretty.
